Check engine learning switch is OFF.

Connect Dr.ZX to equipment.

Turn key switch “ON”.

Switch on Palm.

Start Dr.ZX.

Select “EPVC_Large”.

5. Operation Mode – Monitoring (1/5) Operation mode menu.

Monitor

Enter model code & serial no.

Select item. (Max. four items)

Start monitoring.

Start recording.

Select data bank that store recorded data.

If data bank isn’t empty, Dr.ZX will ask overwrite.

Write data bank.

Enter comment if you want.

NOTE If you did not enter model code & equipment serial no., you can’t record monitoring data to Palm.

(b) Enter model code & s/no.

TIP You can use keyboard to enter model code & serial no. by tap “abc” or “123” on GRAFFITI area. Tap “ ” of Monitor Display

Tap columns and enter model code & serial no. If you did not enter model code & serial no., you can’t record monitoring data.

(c) Tap “OK”

(d) Select monitoring item(s)

After enter model & serial no., tap “OK”. If you don’t need to record monitoring data, no need to enter model code & serial no. Just tap “OK”.

Tap “ ” of item you want monitor. You can monitor four items in once.

5. Operation Mode – Monitoring (3/5) (e) Start display data

(f) Start display monitoring data

After selecting item(s), tap “Start” for display monitoring data.

Item(s) will display. Screen will vary by selected items. Tap “Hold” for pause data. If you want quit, tap “ESC”.

(g) Start Recording

Tap “Record” for record monitoring data. Dr.ZX will record data for three (3) seconds.

(h) Recording

NOTE If you did not enter model code & serial no., “Record” button shall not appear.

During recording, above screen will display.

5. Operation Mode – Monitoring (4/5) (i) Select data bank

(j) Data bank is not empty

Tap data bank (figure) that you want to store recorded data.

If selected data bank already has data, above screen will appear. Tap “OverWrite” for store recorded data, tap “ESC” for back to previous menu.

(l) Confirmation

(l) Enter comment

After data stored, confirmation screen will display. Tap “ESC” to quit, or if you want enter comment, tap “Comment”.

Tap comment column, and enter comment. After entering, tap “OK”.

(k) Data bank is empty

If selected data bank is empty, above screen will display. Tap “Write” for store recorded monitoring data.

TIP You can use keyboard to enter comment. Tap “abc” on GRAFFITI are.

5. Operation Mode – Monitoring (5/5) Items can be monitored (vary by model)

6. Operation Mode – Special Function (WU Deactivation –1/2) Select Special Function.

Select WU Deactivation

Execute

WU Function. WU stands for Warming-Up. This function is, when start engine while hydraulic oil temperature is less than zero (0) Celsius, computer will increase low idle rpm for warm hydraulic oil quickly.

WU has deactivated.

6. Operation Mode – Special Function (WU Deactivation –2/2) (a) Select special function

Tap “ ” of Special Function.

Tap “ ” of WU Deactivation..

Tap “Execute for Deactivation. If you want back to previous menu, tap “ESC”.

(d) Confirmation

After deactivation, above message will display. Tap ”ESC” for quit.

NOTE WU (Warming-up function) will re-activate when key switch is turned “OFF”.

7. Operation Mode – Special Function (ECO Deactivation –1/2) Select Special Function.

Select ECO Deactivation

Execute

ECO Function ECO stands for ECOnomy. This function is, when all levers are in neutral position, computer will reduce engine rpm to 1600min-1 gradually. If any lever(s) are operated, engine rpm will back.

ECO has deactivated.

7. Operation Mode – Special Function (ECO Deactivation –2/2) (a) Select special function

(b) Select ECO deactivation

(c) Select WU deactivation

Tap “ ” of Special Function.

Tap “ ” of ECO Deactivation..

Tap “Execute for Deactivation. If you want back to previous menu, tap “ESC”.

(d) Confirmation

After deactivation, above message will display. Tap ”ESC” for quit.

NOTE ECO (Economy function) will re-activate when key switch is turned “OFF”.

8. Operation Mode – Special Function (Pump Adjustment –1/9) Switch Palm.

Turn key switch “OFF”.

Remove both angle sensors from pump.

Confirm sensors are connecting to harness.

Check engine learning switch is OFF.

Connect Dr.ZX to equipment.

Start engine.

Confirm engine is running with low idle.

Switch on Palm.

Start Dr.ZX.

Start “EPVC_Large”.

Start operation mode.

Operation mode menu.

Continue to next page.

8. Operation Mode – Special Function (Pump Adjustment –2/9)

From previous

Select “Special Function”.

Select “Max. Disp. Holding”.

Wait more than five (5) seconds.

Adjust shaft.

Apply a film of grease.

Install angle sensors to pump.

Adjust sensors.

Tighten bolts & washers.

(c) Remove A (angle) sensors from pump Engine Loose Bolts

Remove two (2) angle sensors from pump. When removing, take care not to lose internal spacer & fastener spring.

Main switch is vary by Palm model. Above shows Palm m500 / 505 / 515.

(j) Start Dr.ZX

(k) Select “EPVC_Large”.

(l) Start operation mode

Tap “Dr.ZX” icon on Palm.

Tap “ ” of EPVC_Large.

Tap “START”.

8. Operation Mode – Special Function (Pump Adjustment –6/9) (m) Model / Version information

(n) Select special function

(o) Select pump adjustment

Check model. If model is correct, tap “correct”, if not tap “ESC” and contact to Hitachi.

Tap “ ” of Special Function.

Tap “ ” of pump adjustment.

(p) Select Max. Disp. Holding

Tap “ ” of pump adjustment.

(q) Sensor signal displayed

NOTE After tap “Max. Disp. Holding”, wait more than five (5) seconds. Computer will operate main pump to maximum displacement position.

Return signals (voltage) from angle sensors will display.

8. Operation Mode – Special Function (Pump Adjustment –7/9) (r) Adjust sensor shaft With the punch mark on the angel sensor shaft, towards the opposites side of the harness, and adjust (turn) shaft that signal voltage is as following specification. ZX450 & ZX500 Pump-1 angle sensor; 1.60V Pump-2 angle sensor; 3.40V ZX600 & ZX800 Pump-1 angle sensor: 1.60V Pump-2 angle sensor; 1.60V

Set signal voltage as following specifications, by adjusting the holes of A (angle) sensor. (u) Quit pump adjustment

Tighten bolts & washers.

Tighten bolts & washers to 9.8Nm (1.0 kgf-m, 7.2 lbf-ft).

Tap “ESC” for quit pump adjustment.

9. Service Mode – How to Start Dr.ZX with Service Mode (1/4) Turn key switch “OFF”.

Wait more than ten(10) seconds.

Connect Dr.ZX to equipment.

Switch on the engine-learning switch.

Turn key switch “ON”.

Switch on Palm.

Start Dr.ZX.

Select “EPVC_Large”.

Start mode.

Confirm model.

Confirm current Dr.ZX mode.

Select Special function.
