DOTA DOTA, short for Defense of the Ancients, is a custom map made for Warcraft III: Frozen Throne. DOTA is a team strategy where players can choose sides and his own hero. There are two sides on the games, Sentinel and Scourge. Players on the same side fight the other players on the opposing side to win the game. The objective of the games is to destroy the opponents’ base together with AI controlled units called creeps. Heroes start at level 1 and levels up to level 25. Heroes level up during the game while killing opposing heroes and creeps. Heroes gain skill when they gain additional levels. DOTA can be played as starting 1v1 up to 5v5. This could be against human players or AI controlled heroes which can be played on DOTA AI maps. DOTA was originally developed by a mapmaker named Eul. There were different DOTA variations that time. The most popular one is DOTA All Stars which was developed by Guinsoo. When Guinsoo retired, IceFrog took over as the main programmer for the map. DOTA is more on strategy than individual play. Even though players have their own heroes, it is their teamwork that is very important to winning the game. Although factors like individual skills also matter, a very good player with team mates that doesn’t care a lot about the team can’t just win by himself against all his opponents(unless of course he’s far too good and his opponents are new to the game). The game called DOTA destroys the mind of our youth today. Im just a concern student of a private university in Davao city. I admit that I play dota, since highschool but now I realize that this game is created not to entertain but to kill and make the future of our youth dark. If you know how to play DOTA you cant resist the temptation to play it. It not only destroy the future of our youth but it also kills our money, the player of this game are sometimes forced lie to they parents or rob money from the pocket of his father. If you play dota binabago niya ugali mo pagparati or sometimes nagkocause pa ito ng suntukan or patayan.

Effects of DOTA To The Students Effects of:

DOTA in studies-instead of reviewing their lessons at home, they rush to the nearest computer shop and give effort to master variety skills in order to win the game.

DOTA in our savings-the money from our parents which was expected for buying foods, they save it to pay computer rentals.

DOTA in law-in some tournament many can’t avoid from betting who would be the winner.

DOTA in responsibilities-instead of helping their parents in household chores, they help their character to level up.

Strategies Of One Man In Playing DOTA - Lane control: Being able to last hit and deny properly. Not just the act itself, but also when to push and when to deny more. I can still properly hold a lane still i.e. so that the lane wont be pushed towards either direction, (by proper timing of last-hit) just out of the reach of my closest tower, effectively allowing me to lasthit every creep, assuming nobody comes and disturbs this. I strongly recommend you try to learn this as this is the best way to farm. My record cs is something along the lines of 70 creepkills + 40 denies in 10 mins. - Always keep a teleport scroll with you (especially early game and especially if you have a stun!). - When retreating, do try to keep an appropriate distance to your opponents, i.e. don't run like a headless chicken, your last stun might allow you to kill your opponent with the help of teammates. There is nothing more tempting than a hero that is almost dead but just out of reach. Using shadows and proper team communication makes this very effective. -There are no "perfect" builds for any character. It all depends on your 'task' or position in consideration with the team. For example a "minor priority target", usually a tank, does not have to get tanking items, if he notices that he is ignored in team-fights. For example a centaur is usually ignored until most intel heroes are killed. If the centaur gets radi early, the will be a primary target, which makes him more useful (and therefore should then get more health). Same with axe. - Intel heroes with a lot of damage potential / disable, such as rasta, should always get a lof of HP early, so they can tank some of the inevitable damage. - Heroes with an damage / attack speed aura, such as ogre magi or venge are greatly under-rated. A ogre magi works great as a disabler, and combined with a good carry hero makes a very strong combination. For example: If your team picks Venge, Moon, Magi, Omni, ES, you would have moon and venge with

stacking damage auras, allowing venge to have a huge damage. With magis attack speed + omni spells moon lategame would be rather unbeatable. Es would clear the opponents from creeps and initiate, allowing moon to ulti and go crazy. - Silence spells can win matches. One properly placed silence can completely destroy the chain of spells the opposing team has planned, therefore a hero with silence should always stay back as to not get caught by the opposing team. Same with significant disablers (blink dagger users). - My personal rule is to never go to a lane without decent amounts of heal / mana regen. I can sometimes play for 20-30 minutes without going to the base a single time. This allows for more farming and xp gain, as well as the possibility to help your team. I recommend at least a total of 6 tangoos (9 if carry) and 1-3 mana potions if laning normally.

5 Reasons To Stop Playind DOTA 1. You get addicted The joy of building a great hero and killing many heroes and monsters in the game are TOO HARD to resist even to a commoner like me. You will get addicted to the thrill and excitement when you play Dota. You see, this is how online gamers get addicted. They never get satisfied, they always focus on building the best hero and being the best Dota player. When they fail, they will spend more time playing Dota. Last I check, there's around 90 heroes to choose from. Go figure.

2. You go to sleep with a Dota playing scenario Imagine having to go to bed thinking that you're still playing Dota in your mind. You begin to hallucinate according to me. LOL. When you close your eyes, Dota immediately comes into your mind. Worst, Dota becomes the only thing that is constantly in your mind. Now, what about we all been talking about NOTICING the small things in life.. Doesn't it matter?

3. You begin to start hearing voices " First blood, Killing spree, Dominating, Double kill, Mega kill, Unstoppable, Wicked sick, Triple kill, Monster kill, God-like, Beyond God-like, Holyshit!" sound utterly familiar all the time. Those sounds you get when you kill heroes. They start to play on your mind the whole time. Each time you accomplish something, you begin to shout, "DOMINATING!" or when you just won an argument with you friends, you begin to say "KILLING SPREE!" Not only you sound like a total idiotic ass, you also display a psychotic symptom. The OBVIOUS symptoms you have accepted this voice as one of you is when you start choosing them as your ringtone. Come on..... Who actually chooses, "mmmmmmm MONSTER KILL!" as their ringtone?! 4. You get to hurl bad words or being hurled a lot during playing Dota Now tell me, how many of you get scolded "noob(clueless player)" countless of time by the so-called sensational players who keep pawning/owning (killing players) you. How many times that you actually want to take the keyboard and start assaulting those so-called sensational players. Instead of encouraging you, you are being treated like a noob. Not long, they will start to tell you 5. You develop an odd love-bond between your computer and you You start having a weird ritual to perform before you start playing a game of Dota. It's said to help you to pawn or dominate the game. Some people might start kissing their mouse or keyboard few times or telling the mouse and keyboard.
