Established Labor Categories and T&M Rates; both billable and non-billable Contract liaison – set up contracts, implemented contractual modifications, tracking and reporting. Treasury management interfacing with the bank as well as internal customers, prepared payroll, processed accounts payable, created complex journal entries, established automation of complex service center entries. Clients ranged from smaller businesses to larger muti-site businesses. I was seen by clients as the “go-to” person and received much praise for my dedication and tireless efforts to meet deadlines while training those that had no understanding of government contracting. For those that had a good understanding I was able to help them achieve their goals of automation by streamlining manual processes into automated efforts which allowed clients to manage the company and analyze the data rather than spend precious time extracting information to spend countless hours to determine what it means.

Treasurer and Director of Financial Systems (formerly Controller) Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation September 2012 – November 2014 Duties Included:  Newly created position as growth warranted a dedicated Treasury department  Development of cash management tools for tracking daily cash, which were reviewed daily with COO and CFO.  Implementation of “bottoms up” cash forecasts utilizing program ETC’s/EAC’s, Supply Chain data extracts and procurement commitments timing.  Instilled the discipline of a rolling twelve-month forecast. Providing the state with job opportunities, training and providing the company with funding to build the infrastructures needed.  Worked closely with Supply Chain Management and Accounts Payable to build credit relations and improve D&B ratings. Worked closely with Accounts Receivable to ensure timely invoicing and related collections improving our Days Sales Outstanding.  Aurora deals with development and production contracts and has numerous disparate legacy systems across numerous locations. I was tasked and successfully lead the implementation of TM1 / Cognos Express which allowed for real time reporting, easier budgeting, planning and forecasting which allowed us to bring together real time information from all the disparate systems into one user friendly tool. We leverage this tool for resource planning, program lifecycle development (pricing, reporting performance to completion and close out), EVM reporting on government contracts requiring EVM reporting. Leveraged the tool to produce most of the program management materials used in our internal and external reviews (key metrics, charts, dashboards with drill through functionality). The tool increased efficiency by doing the data preparation and some analysis allowing time to address and focus on corrective actions. This was incredibly valuable in pulling together multi-site cash analysis for real time visibility and forecasting of working capital

Related Skills Financial and Strategic Planning, Auditing and Compliance, Management of Operating and Working Capital, Budget/Forecast development, variance tracking, Cash Flow Management and Modeling, Management and Implementation of ERP Systems, Cost Management/Containment, Staff Mentoring and Development. Ability to be in the “weeds” as well as maintain a high level view. I possess a unique blend of talent as I am well versed in technology as well as accounting, manufacturing environments, FP&A, strategic planning and will challenge the status quo to ensure the best most efficient path for the company. I have been responsible for all administrative functions such as Information Systems/Technology, Security, Human Resources, Program Control, Treasury, FP&A and served as the right hand to the CEO. I am versatile, not afraid of change, but recognize the need to understand an organization before making changes. After all, there is usually a reason said process, procedure or policy came to exist in the first place, but the person performing the activity may not be thinking how to better, improve or make more efficient the process. They simply become tied to the mentality of “this is the way we have always done it”. I enjoy helping people that “don’t have the time” streamline their efforts to be as productive and efficient as possible. In turn, I typically end up with a happier employee who can now add greater value in other ways as they now have more time to do so. In everything I do, I ask myself what value is being derived from this and I usually find there is for more by making even the most minor of changes.
