This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 168 ‘Chains, ropes, webbing, slings and accessories – Safety’ (Secretariat: United Kingdom). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Stahldraht und Stahldrahterzeugnisse (Steel Wire and Wire Products Standards Committee), Technical Committee Drahtseile, Seil-Endverbindungen und Anschlagseile. Amendments DIN 3088, May 1989 edition, has been superseded by the specifications of DIN EN 13414-2. Previous editions DIN 3088: 1976-09, 1989-05; DIN 15060: 1952-07, 1968-03.
