Scenario 1: Custom accelerators In a nutshell Continue to run the SAP Business Suite applications on a traditional database. Accelerate existing custom reports by using SAP HANA as secondary database.

 



Adapt your coding where necessary to redirect selected database queries to SAP HANA. Alternatively use the SAP Business Application Accelerator powered by SAP HANA to configure the redirection of selected database queries. Use SAP HANA Live for operational reporting and extend the delivered content according to your requirements (also available in scenario 2).

Scenario 2: Custom developments in SAP Business Suite / SAP NetWeaver BW In a nutshell Migrate existing business applications (in particular SAP Business Suite and SAP NetWeaver BW) to SAP HANA. Your existing custom code continues to run.

 

Detect further optimization potential and ensure that your custom programs exploit SAP HANA to the full extent. Use SAP HANA models, predefined business function libraries and text search to accelerate or enrich your business applications.

Required ABAP version AS ABAP 7.4 (SAP NetWeaver BW can also run on SAP HANA from release 7.3 onwards)

Scenario 3: New applications In a nutshell Redefine core business processes and support them by new applications running side-by-side and – if necessary – integrating with SAP Business Suite.





Do things which you could not do in the past based on traditional database technology and which are now possible by means of applications specifically designed for SAP HANA. Build on your existing ABAP skills and SAP HANA features for business rules management, data mining and predictive analysis to support business models that help you to differentiate your company from your competitors.
