Common Contact System The Deutsch Industrial Common Contact System is a unique system of interchangeable and intermateable contacts that can be used in many Deutsch Industrial connectors. Contacts are available in Solid or Stamped & Formed (F-Crimp) styles, with plating options including gold or nickel. Easy-to-use indent crimpers create a gas tight crimp that is resistant to oxidation. This high-quality crimp allows Deutsch contacts to provide reliable reliable,, low resistance power and data tra nsmis sion.

Deutsch silicone seals and grommets fit tightly around the wire insulation and at the connector interface to provide redundant barriers to contamination contamination.. In order to create a reliable environmental seal and ensure continuity of flow, Deutsch seals: - Are resistant to most common industrial and engine fluids. - Retain their flexibility across a wide temperature range. - Never require potting or dielectric grease.

The 3 modified DT series connector housings with suffi x E005, EP06 & EP08 are typic ally refer red to as ‘CAT-Spec’, ‘CAT-Spec’, short for CATERP CATERPILLAR ILLAR Specification.

DT04-2P-L012

These modified DT series connec tor housings are used on most Caterpillar mining machinery as an OEM standard connector. At a glance, they are black, include improved seal retention on the plug (DT06 side, by using the P012 wedge lock), and a cap on the rear of the housing to retain the connectors rear wire seal. Note, the 8 and 12 cavity versions of EP06 ar e exempt from this classification as these are gr ey.

P012 The P012 P012 plugs provide enhanced fr ont seal reten tion providing an ultra tight environmental seal.

The HDBox, which holds two DT1 DT13 3 connector s and an HD30 Series receptacle, mounts on the vehicle and mates wit h an HD30 Series plug connector featuring a breakaway coupling ring. Contact Insertion Step 1 Hold crimped contact approximately 25mm behind the cont act barr el.

Hold connector with rear grommet toward the contact.

Once all contacts are in place, insert wedgelock. The wedgelock will snap into place securing the contacts.

Push contact into connector grommet until a click is felt. Gently pull back to confirm contact is locked in place.

1. Ensure tool i s reset by completely depressing handles.

2. Strip insulation from wire. 3. Insert contact into the appropriate size tool barrel up.
