Detailed Lesson Plan in MSEP (Physical Education) IV I.

Objectives: At the end of the discussion, the students are expected to; A. Identify the basic dance steps in ¾ rhythm B. Develop good coordination of body movements. C. Execute the basic dance steps in ¾ rhythm correctly.

II.

Subject Matter: A. Topic: Basic Dance Steps in ¾ Rhythm B. Reference: Enhancing Skills Through MAPE by Perla Tubayan et al. p. 278- 280 C. Materials: Chart Pictures

III. Procedure A. Teacher’s Activity Good noon Class! Before we start, please pick up all the pieces of dirts around your chair and after please arrange your chairs.

Student’s Activity Good noon Sir!

(The students will follow what the teacher said.)

Class, are you all ready? Yes sir. Okay, sit properly and when I start to discuss I don’t want to hear noise. Is it clear? Can we start? Last week, you’ve discussed about the different basic dance steps in 2/4 rhythm or 2/4 time signature. Can you perform those basic dance step in 2/4 rhythm?

Yes sir.

Give me some basic step and perform it? Karen? Very good! Another? Azilrei? And the next is slide or glide step. Who can perform it? Dennise?

Step point. Another baisc step in 2/4 rhythm is Rocking step. (He will als o perform it with correct step) (she will perform it with proper and correct step)

The last one yuo’ve discussed it Stephop, who can perform it correctly? (She will also perform it correctly) Angelica? Okay, All of your steps are correct, Very good! Before we move to the next topic, can you perform first the 5 fundamental dance position of arms and feet?

Yes sir. (The students will perform those 5 steps first in arms position followed by feet position and last is combining those fundamental steps.)

B. Discussion: Our lesson for today is about the basic dance steps using ¾ rhythm or time signature. The first basic step is Step swing As indicated on the name, you will just step and swing. (The teacher will perform it before

the students.) Next is Bleking step. (The teacher will perform it, to be followed by the students.)

(After the teacher perform it, the students will follow it correctly.)

Another is Step point, again, as indicated you will just step and point. Very good! The other step is the Touch step, point R(L) foot in front and step R(L) close to L(R) foot. (The teacher will perform it.) The next basic dance step in ¾ rhythm is step-brush-swing-hop, Step R(L) foot sideward. Brush L(R) foot forward and swing it across the R(L) infront. (hop on R(L) foot. (The teacher will perform it first.) And last is Waltz, step R(L) foot forward step L(R) close to R(L) foot in third rear or in first positin. Step R(L) foot forward. (the teacher will execute it.) Okay, all of you are very good! C. Generalization: So, All that we’ve discussed is about? Cheska? Okay ,Very good! All of those steps are very essential

(The students will follow what the teacher performed, the touch step.)

(After the teacher performed, the class will also follow what the teacher performed using the dance step.)

(The students will follow what the teacher executed.)

The lesson that we’ve discussed and performed is all about the basic dance steps in ¾ rhythm.

to us, it can be our foundation to discover and dnace more out of it. Knowing those basic dance steps will help you to have the coordination in your body, not just the arms and feet are dancing but all of the parts of our body. D. Application: Group Activity: Each row will perform two (2) basic dance steps in ¾ rhythm. IV.

Evaluation

Group the class, each group should have 6 members to perform 4 basic dance step in ¾ rhythm with the music (Bahay kubo).

V. Assignment: 1. Memorize all the basic dance steps using 2/4 and ¾ rhythm or time signature because we will have an individual practical test.
