parents who divorced when she was just five years old. Brought up with the help of her grandparents who were both conservative and religious, she confides that it was her upbringing which made her very timid. She is known as the Iron Lady of Malaysia. She is not only a well known entrepreneur and business woman but she also is a famous motivational author and speaker. 1.2 HOW DID SHE START THE BUSINESS She has started the business venture when she decided to buy an almost bankrupt, unknown security company and now turn it into a multi-million empire. From an unknown entity, Securiforce now has become the largest security provider in Malaysia. When an almost bankrupt company was offered to her, Datuk Maznah and her husband, who were eager to change their ordinary life had took the plunge and sacrificed RM5,000 of their saving as the capital to start the business. She put all of her RM 5000 into a security service company. Consider for a moment that she had no idea how to run a business, let alone one that dealt with security. All she knew were the basics of security operations, law and firearms.Datuk Maznah not only managing the operation during the early days when business just start up, she also to be a clerk, secretary, manager and receptionist. They even sold their own house and moved into a slum that came without electricity for expand their business.

1.3 WHAT ARE THE FACTOR WHICH LEAD TO THE CREATION OF BUSINESS. The factor that lead to the creation of Securiforce by Datuk Maznah are she eager to change her ordinary life. She have taking up business courses, then Datuk Maznah realised that she wanted to become an entrepreneur only to have her grandfather tell her that entrepreneurs are drop-outs who will eventually end up selling fish and vegetables in the market.Undaunted, Maznah took her certificates and became a tutor and translator for several embassies.Main factor for her to create her business and to be a entrepreneur are when she found many rich people and she ask how to be rich and the answer are she need to be an entrepreneur . For her A person may not have a sound education background, but what they will always have are resources.

2.0 COMPANY’S BACKGROUND 2.1 NAME OF COMPANY SECURIFORCE SDN BHD (commonly referred to as SECURIFORCE) is principally engaged as a provider of a comprehensive range of security services in Malaysia. 2.2 WHAT TYPE OF BUSINESS IS SHE RUNNING ?IN WHAT INDUSTRY? SECURIFORCE was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act 1965 on 27 September 1980. Through a carefully planned expansion program, SECURIFORCE has undergone phenomenal growth. Today, apart from being a service provider for the traditional statistic guarding and "Cash-in-Transit" services, SECURIFORCE has also successfully expanded its operations into the more specialized services, such as providing secured overland transportation, vaulting / security storage / warehousing / logistics / freight forwarding (including ground-to-air and air-to-ground services) to meet the needs of exporters and importers.

2.3 WHO ARE THE TARGET CUSTOMER Securiforce Sdn.Bhd also know as the principally that engaged as a provider of a comprehensive range of security services in Malaysia. .The services are not only limited to static guard but also spans to logistic, cash-in-transit, cash management, high tech cargo management, armoured trucking service, as well as numerous other services. Securiforce provides a complete and total security package, pioneering the concept of ‘total security’. As a result of her sheer dedication and management ability, Securiforce has now developed and diversified into many subsidiary companies, thriving from strength to strength. One such example is Danau Lumayan, a Property Development Company situated at Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras. Danau Lumayan has signed a Privatised Agreement with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur 3 to develop a parcel of Land situated at Bandar Tun Razak. Danau Lumayan builds and sells

exclusive condominiums, penthouses, buildings - (offices / shop lots). Securiforce Group has also expanded their services to their valued customer by offering a Global

Logistics and Supply Chain Services with the establishment of Securiforce Logistics which the headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and operating their owned oversea offices in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Turkey . Throughout her over 30-years history, the Securiforce has earned the reputation of being a reliable provider of security services, gaining the trust and confidence of a broad range of commercial organizations extensively across the country most notably for banks and other financial institutions, government agencies, retail chain outlets and other commercial entities.

2.4 HOW DOES SHE RUN THE BUSINESS?(TYPE OF BUSINESS) She knew from a young age that education and persistence would be the key to success . Datuk Maznah said that “The first step I took was to sign up at a language centre to better my English. Later, I took up business courses but I was still without direction. All I knew was that I wanted to be rich and successful”. Datuk Maznah began by providing security for homes but could not afford to pay staff so guarded the homes herself along with her husband. Living in a rumah haram, an illegal housing area, she lived without facilities but continued to aspire to success and was never afraid to take the next step in order to achieve her goals.Datuk Maznah know that security work not a woman field but she challenge her self to choose this field cause she want to prove that woman also can success in this field . 2.5 HOW MANY EMPLOYEES DOES SHE HAVE? Datuk Dr. Maznah is the Executive Chairman of Securiforce, a security company with more than 6,000 employees in Malaysia and across Asia and Europe. There are now more than 65 Securiforce branches and the business has expanded over the last 30 years to include logistics, cash-in-transit and high-tech cargo management services. 4

3.0 ACHIEVEMENTS Securiforce is a security company that have been a multi-million, respectable empire.With only a few thousands capital of their own, her company has to compete with hundreds of other licensed security companies in Malaysia, with many of them were established with up to millions of capital. And against all competition, the company survived and triumphed.The company, Securiforce now is one of the biggest security companies in Malaysia while contributing to the overall growth and improvement of the society's life in Malaysia. For her outstanding leadership qualities and distinguished entrepreneurship, she was invited to introduce the motivational programme at TV3 in 1990, where she was made Motivational Counsellor and Success Counsellor at both RTM and TV3. Hence, we quite often hear her familiar voice over the radio, and see her appearances on television.

3.3 WHAT ARE THE KEY SUCCESS FACTOR OF THE BUSINESS. First of all, Datuk Wira Dr Maznah Hamid is full of versality. She is said to be versality because she has brought the ‘no future’ unknown Securiforce become a biggest security company in Malaysia and has successfully compete with other companies from the same field. She brilliantly grab the opportunity to use her ability and knowledge to develop the company.qThen, she is also a full of foresight entrepreneur. She is said to be foresight as she is able to predict what will happen or to be needed in the future. For example, she is able to see that Securiforce is not only as ‘static guard’, but also include logistic, cash-in-transit, cash management and many more to bring Securiforce to another level in this business. Securiforce is giving full security package with the concept of total security. Other than that, she is also a time competence entrepreneur. As the time passes, Securiforce also actively involve internationally by developing Securiforce Logistic which specialize in shipping by land, air and sea. This shows that Datuk Wira Dr Maznah Hamid is developing her company according to the needs and demands of her customers worldwide.

4.0 WHY I AM ADMIRE HER At first I know about Datuk Maznah Hamid was talk show in a television ,my first perception was she just a rich people that talk about herself,but after I watched and listen to her story about how,when and why she start to involve with this field it make me interested to know about her.What can I say about her is she love to smile and look humble even she have her own company and also a successful entrepreneur .Although Datuk Dr. Maznah Hamid a woman but she was willing to engage in male employment. She also willing to take any risk when she want to sacrificed RM5,000 of their saving as the capital to start the business .In the old days, most men who engage in dangerous security controls, such as security officers, police, fire, and so on. But, she did not mind the particular area or not in accordance with their status as women, but finally she was prove that women can also be involved in the security field full of a lot of doom and danger. The second reason is an entrepreneur who was brave because she is willing to engage in activities that are not 8 known by others in 30 years ago and managed to make Securiforce a famous company in

Malaysia Datuk Maznah Hamid also a person that never forget her origin even she know to speak in english

fluently but she still speak in malay with proud.Other than that ,even she has her own company she never forget about her responsible as a wife to Datuk Shaheen Mirza Habib and a mother to five children and also grandmother to six grandchildren .In this way what I can see that she was ordinary woman for her family and also got a happy family .These show how she can handle her job and daily life well , for woman to balance between job and family is not easy as say because woman need to take care her children and husband and a same way to concentrate in work.Her way handle her family and career make me more admire and respect to her as a successful woman .Datuk Maznah also have a strong faith ,she always doa to Allah S.W.T to success and grateful for what she have get. As a woman ,she was a best role model for me and make me want to be successful entrepreneur and woman like her.

4.1 WHAT IS THE ENTREPRENEUR’S PHILOSOPHY Her philosophy of success and achievement can be seen in her belief that“the main capital in business is yourself”. She carries the principle of “we should produce a workload more than what we are paid for, as in the end, we will be rewarded much more than what we have done”. This principle has lead to major successes in her business career.

4.2 WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES FACED. Datuk Maznah have challenges face when her grandmother and grandfather that conservative and strong religion that just want her to be religion teacher because of that she began her career as a 9

language teacher and translator but she know if she want to be rich she has to be an entrepreneur .Cause of that she willing to get through all challenges . The process of developing the glory was not easy though. She started off the company with merely

RM 5,000 from her own savings compared to the other security company with the capitals between RM500,000 to RM 1 million. None like any other entrepreneur, she started off without any aid from the banking institution and up until now where all her companies were established pogressively growing. During the early years of Securiforce, she managed to employ only a few guards with she herself as a manager being her own clerk, a secretary and sometimes she would became the guard when the guard that she attached to a client went off for annual leave or some other reasons. Being the jack of all trades in this business is not easy. 4.3 HOW DOES SHE OVERCOME THE CHALLENGES Although she came from hard family she set in her mind to be successful in life. She came a poor family and raised by his grandmother and her grandfather since the age of five years after a family breakup . She was a lonely child, but the lack of it to be a blessing because it led her to the factors to be a human endeavor successful .She always want to be rich and that make her to become more attempted to success in life .The most incredible and interesting part in Datuk Maznah’s success story is that all her companies were established and progressively growing without any aid from the banking institutions She started her business with merely RM5000 from her savings.This show how independent Datuk Maznah overcome the challenge in started her business.Datuk Maznah also was once a security guard at a supermarket to replace workers who returned to the village as Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays. While her husband was at home job security patrols dignitaries. She overcome the challenge with her husband even they need to get through all hardship together .

5.0 WHAT CAN I LEARN FROM THIS ENTREPRENEUR. Datuk Maznah Hamid is a successful entrepreneur in Malaysia. Although ,she was a woman and not come from rich family but she still can be successful with her own effort and also support from her beloved husband. Datuk Maznah Hamid teach me that woman also can do man work .Security work is one of man work but she has prove that she also can work and be successful in this courses .She make me think that now day woman are not helpless. Next, one of the story that I admire the most are when Datuk Maznah could not afford to hire many people ,she ended up guarding the premises by herself while her husband did the patrolling.This show how responsible she is and also how she overcome her challenge ,for me Datuk Maznah make me learn that where is the will there’s a way and never give up until you get what you want.Like Datuk Maznah she has be a Securiforce Group Executive Chairman this show successful she can be after what she have been through. 11

5.1 BASED ON THE CONCEPT I HAVE LEARN IN APT2103 ENTREPRENEURIAL BAHAVIOR ,HOW CAN I EMULATE/IMITATE FROM THE DATUK MAZNAH HAMID.

From concept that I have learn Apt 2013 Entrepreneurial Behavior and how can i emulate /imitate from the Datuk Maznah Hamid are her mindset.As before Datuk Maznah always want to be rich and successful in her business even many challenges that she must to overcome,she take many risk and has been through many hardship before being one of the successful.This show how she developing growth mindset.When she have been criticism about want to start a business that a security work ,she make that criticism one of her encouragement to prove that woman also can do a security work.She also make effort by have been a guard at the premise by herself when she doesn’t have enough worker .She really work hard to success in her business .Mindset to entrepreneur is important cause when the entrepreneur thinking ‘out of the box’ it will become norm of the society.When Datuk Maznah make a Securiforce it prove that woman also can work in securities field. Other concept that I can imitate from Datuk Mazah Hamid are the entrepreneur motivation.When she still young she have decide want to be rich and successful .When she taking up these business courses, Datuk Maznah realised that she wanted to become an entrepreneur .These show Datuk Maznah have a motive that are to be rich and successful .Her goal to be a successful entrepreneur and for a behavior are to be a successful entrepreneur in security field even though she was a woman. In my perception Datuk Maznah is a person who need for achievement .This because she challenge her self to be a entrepreneur in man field and for a woman this challenge is not easy as we think. As a conclusion,Datuk Maznah Hamid also know as iron lady was an entrepreneur and woman in man filed that I admired most,her story life make me feel more interested to challenge my self as a woman to be successful same as her.

Conclusion As a conclusion being successful in a predominantly male career is something to be applauded. Datuk Wira Dr Maznah Hamid is the Executive Chairman of Securiforce. When a security company that was not doing well was offered to her, Maznah and her husband took it as a challenge to bring the company back into business. In her efforts to make her business a success, she endured a whole lot of challenges and financial crisis. It went to the extend where, to grow her business Maznah had to sell her house and live in the slums. In the end, all her hard work pay off. Securiforce is now one of the largest security company in Malaysia. Besides running her business, Maznah gives motivational talks to people who are wishing to improve themselves. Maznah has received numerous awards and appreciation for her excellence in business. She is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Datuk Maznah Hamid story have give me a lot of information and knowledge that I can apply in may life. I hope one day ,I also can be as good as her in being successful entrepreneur. While making this essaignment I release that she has a lot of hardship to get trough but she still keep in 13 her mind to be successful in an entrepreneur.
