Research has shown that typical candidates at Level C1 can: - contribute effectively to meetings within own area of work or keep up a casual conversation with a good degree of fluency, coping with abstract expressions. - read quickly enough to cope with an academic course, read the media for information or understand non-standard correspondence. - prepare professional correspondence, take reasonably accurate notes in meetings or write an essay which shows an ability to communicate.
INTERPRETATION OF OVERALL GRADES The percentage of marks needed to achieve each grade may vary from session to session depending on the precise difficulty of the individual papers which make up the particular examination. Grades A-E do not correspond to the shaded bands on the candidate profile above. There are NO pass/fail levels in individual papers. The overall grade is assigned by adding together scores in individual papers.
