Preface The CTS-9005 digital ultrasonic flaw detector is the perfect combination of various advanced modern technologies such as ultrasonic flaw detection, computer, electronics, mould, techniques. Therefore we present a series of digital ultrasonic flaw detectors with higher performance and more powerful functions to the industry. Main features of the CTS-9005 digital ultrasonic flaw detector: 1) Small size —— The dimension of the whole unit is 152mm×240mm×52mm (W×H×D). This is the smallest size among all flaw detectors with a 5.7-inch monitor. 2) Light weight —— The total weight of the unit (including battery) is 1.15kg only. 3) Low consumption —— Given that the system has small size and light weight, a fullyrecharged battery can support the system to work continuously over 7 hours. 4) High performance ——The main technical specifications, such as detection sensitivity surplus, vertical linearity, horizontal linearity and dynamic range, are much better than the requirements of China’s national standard. 5) Rich functions —— The system is featured with USB port, auto gain control, peak memory, DAC, AVG. 6) Easy operation —— The user-friendly system interface is quite intuitive with just a few buttons for easy definition and simple operation.
This Operation Manual contains the following chapters: Chapter 1 gives a brief introduction to the system. Chapter 2 describes system menus and functional operation. Chapter 3 describes some operation techniques, so as to facilitate the users to operate the system quickly and conveniently. Chapter 4 describes the general steps when performing field testing with the system, and gives some application examples. Chapter 5 describes how to use peripheral devices, ports and accessories. Chapter 6 describes operator training and system maintenance.

Appendix B describes system main performance specifications. Appendix C describes system submenus. To know system features and operation, as well as how to perform ultrasonic testing with the system, please read this Operation Manual carefully before using the system.

Operation Cautions and Safety Guide 1) Please keep this Operation Manual and always operate the system by following the steps and methods described in the Operation Manual. 2) Before operating the system, the operator shall have received formal training on ultrasonic testing. 3) Do not try to dismantle and repair the system unless specifically described in the Operation Manual. 4) The system warranty will be void if the fragile labels on specific positions are damaged. 5) Do not place the system in the place of moisture or near radiator, strong magnetic field or heat source. 6) When the system is not in use for a long time, it should be powered up at lease once every month. 7) Avoid collide any hard object against the display screen. 8) Do not use a damaged or worn-out power cable. 9) For cautions on using the battery, please refer to 5.3.4 Battery Maintenance. 10) For cautions on using the charger/adaptor, please refer to 5.4 Charger/Adaptor.

Chapter 2
System Operation
2.1 Power Supply The power of this system can be supplied by either the battery (DC-92) or the charger/adaptor (CD-92A): a) Battery Operation: Install the battery according to 5.3.1 Battery Installation and Disassemble. b) Charger/Adaptor Operation: 1) Insert the charger/adaptor AC In plug in the AC socket (AC 100V~240V). 2) Insert the charger/adaptor DC Out plug in the DC Power In Socket at the top of the system.
2.2 Power on Operation: Press Power Key
to turn on the system, and the power indicator on the panel will turn green.
The system screen will display SIUI logo and the model. After initialization, it will go to operation mode. 【Note 1】: The system power-up parameter settings are the same as those before the system is powered off last time in normal state. 【Note 2】: If the system cannot be powered on, please refer to Appendix A Common Failures and Troubleshooting.
2.3 Power Off Operation: Press Power Key
for about 2 seconds, and the power-off screen will be displayed and the 9

2.4 Main Menu Selection The system main menu corresponds to the main menu keys on the panel. For example, DAC corresponds to DAC main menu, AVG corresponds to AVG main menu. Press the main menu key on the panel and the corresponding main menu is selected.
2.5 Submenu Selection If not specified, the submenu shall be selected as below: Operation: Press the direction key ▲ or ▼ to select the submenu. 【Note】: The selected submenu will be highlighted.
2.6 Turning Page For main menu with multiple pages of submenus, follow either of the operation below to turn pages. Operation: 1)
Select the submenu Page, and press ◄ or ► to turn to the previous or the next page.
2)
Or press the corresponding main menu key to turn to the next page circularly.
2.7 General Submenu Adjustment If not specified, the submenu value or item shall be adjusted by following the steps below. Operation: 1) Select the submenu to be adjusted. Please refer to 2.5 Submenu Selection; 2) Use the direction key ◄ or ► to increase/decrease submenu value or toggle among items. 【Note 1】: When adjusting submenu value, hold on the adjust key may speed up the value 10

2.8 Extended Submenu There are two submenus with extended submenus, i.e. Standard and Angle_Meas. Please see their operation as below: a)
Select the submenu Standard. Operation: 1) Press DAC and the submenu correspond to DAC main menu will pop up. Make the DAC curve with the general method. 2) Select the submenu Standard. 3) Press

extended submenu is the same as that of the general submenu. b)
Select the submenu Angle_Meas. Operation: 1) Press Cal to display the submenu correspond to Cal main menu. 2) Select the submenu Angle_Meas. 3) Press

2.9 Self-defined function key Self-defined function key- F1 . The user may select the function of this key in the Config main menu based on specific needs. Functions available for selection are: PeakEnv, ScreenShot, Zoom, Help, AWS (Option) and API (Option) . In the Config main menu, select PeakEnv, ScreenShot, Zoom or Help for F1 submenu. a) Peak Envelope Memory Operation: If PeakEnv is selected for F1 submenu: 11
Shantou Institute of Ultrasonic Instruments Co., Ltd. 1) Press F1 to enable the Peak Envelope Memory function if it is disabled. 2) Press F1 to disable the Peak Envelope Memory function if it is enabled. b) Screen Shot If ScreenShot is selected for F1 submenu: Operation: If a USB disk is connected, press F1 , and the screenshot will be saved as a picture and outputted to the USB disk. c) Zoom Operation: If Zoom is selected for F1 submenu: 1) Press F1 to enable the Zoom function if it is disabled. 2) Press F1 to disable the Zoom function if it is enabled. d) Help If Help is selected for F1 submenu: 1) To view the help information for any menu, select the desired menu, then press F1 ; In the help information screen, press ◄ to turn to the previous page, or ► to the next page. 2) press F1 to exit help information screen. e) AWS (Option) Operation: If AWS is selected for F1 submenu: 1) Press F1 to go to the AWS screen. 2) Press any other menu key to exit the AWS screen and go to the selected menu. f) API (Option) Operation: If API is selected for F1 submenu: 1) Press F1 to go to the API screen. 2) Press any other menu key to exit the API screen and go to the selected menu. 【Note 1】: If the function is not available, it will prompt “Not supported by software”. 【Note 2】:The Zoom function can not be enabled if PeakEnv function is in use. 【Note 3】: For Help function, if no relevant help is found for the menu, press F1 and it displays 12

Freeze
Operation: 1) Press Freeze to enable the freeze function if it is disabled 2) Press Freeze to disable the freeze function if it is enabled. 【Note】: When the freeze function is enabled, a freeze mark * will be displayed at the bottom right of the screen. (Please refer to 1.7 Measure Data Area.)

Auto Gain
Operation: Press AGC and the echo within gate will be automatically adjusted to the set echo amplitude in AutoLevel submenu of Config main menu. For example, if AutoLevel is set 80%, press AGC and the echo within gate will be automatically adjusted to 80% amplitude.
2.12
Auto Correction
Auto correction is used for correcting material velocity and probe zero (the acoustic time from the probe ceramic to the incidence point), so as to eliminate the impact of velocity and zero on calculation parameters, such as system sound path, horizontal distance and vertical distance. There is only 1 correction types: Vel&Zero (Velocity and Zero corrected at the same time). Operation: 1) Press Cal to go to Cal main menu. 2) Select the submenu Ref1 to adjust the actual sound path of reference 1. 3) Select the submenu Ref2 to adjust the actual sound path of reference 2. 4) Select the submenu GAStart to adjust gate start position, and hitch the gate to the echo corresponding to reference 1. Adjust gain or press AGC to bring the echo amplitude around 80%. Press

Example 1: Use the first and the second echoes of a BH-50 echo probe to correct its velocity and zero at the same time. Operation: 1) Press Cal to go to Cal main menu. 2) Select the submenu Ref1 to adjust the actual sound path of the first echo to 50mm. 3) Select the submenu Ref2 to adjust the actual sound path of the second echo to 100mm. 4) Select the submenu GAStart to adjust gate start position, and hitch the gate to the echo corresponding to reference 1. Adjust gain or press AGC to bring the echo amplitude around 80%. Press

Example 2: Use a CSK-IA test block to correct velocity and zero of an angle probe. (See Fig. 2-1) Operation: 1) Press Cal to go to Cal main menu. 2) Select the submenu Ref1 to adjust the actual sound path of the R50 arc echo to 50mm. 3) Select the submenu Ref2 to adjust the actual sound path of the R100 arc echo to 100mm. 4) Move the probe to bring the highest reflection echo of the R100 arc 80% of the screen height and the reflection echo of the R50 arc more than 20% of the screen height. (If the R50 arc echo amplitude is less than 20%, the echo amplitude may be increased by translating the probe towards the R50 arc.) 5) Select the submenu GAStart to adjust gate start position, and hitch the gate to the R50 arc echo. Adjust gain or press AGC to bring the echo amplitude around 80%. Press screen prompts Please record echo for Ref2. 14

2.15.1 Making AVG Curves Operation: 1) Before using the AVG function, correction shall be performed. See 2.12 Auto Correction. 2) Press AVG to switch to AVG main menu. 3) Input probe information: Select the submenus P_Shape, AVG_Freq., AVG_DiamA, AVG_DiamB, Angle and K_Value respectively, and input information such as probe shape, frequency, size (for a round-shape probe, input the probe diameter in the submenu AVG_DiamA; for a rectangularshape probe, input the length of two probe sides in AVG_DiamA and AVG_DiamB), and angle. 4) Select the submenu AVG_Op and adjust it to Record. 5) Input Reference Information Select the submenu BaseType, and adjust it to the standard reflector type of the reference test block or the work piece:

Select the submenu AVG_L1, AVG_L2 and AVG_L3 respectively and adjust their values. 7) Input Compensation Value When the echo amplitude of the reference test block or the workpiece does not comply with the theoretical value, compensation is required to compensate the value difference. This is a common practice when a broad flat bottom is used for reference. Because the broad flat bottom echo amplitude usually does not reach the theoretical difference of amplitude for the echo of the same-distance flat-bottom hole, if the broad flat bottom amplitude is used as a reference, the calculated flat-bottom equivalent value in actual testing will be inaccurate. Therefore, in situations when the broad flat bottom echo is used as a reference, it is recommended to input the error (between the actual difference of the reference broad flatbottom echo amplitude and the flat-bottom test block amplitude with the same-distance, which can be calculated with the theoretical formula) as compensation. Input the compensation to bring the calculation more accurate. 8) Select the submenu GAStart. Adjust gate start position and hitch the gate to the echo to be recorded. Adjust gain or press AGC to bring the echo amplitude around 80%. Now the system will make the curves automatically. 9) If AVG curves display is not required, select Off in AVG_Op submenu to hide the current curves.

The values for SPath (SoundPath) and A (Amplitude) are different subject to methods. 1) Peak: To calculate sound path and amplitude based on the peak within the gate range. 2) JFront: To calculate sound path from the intersection with the gate within the gate range, based on which calculate the amplitude by searching for the echo peak where the intersection locates. 3) Front: To calculate sound path from the intersection with the gate, and to get the amplitude from the peak within the gate range.

3.4 System Text Prompt During operating the system, when a mis-operation occurs or a confirmation for any operation is required, a text prompt message will be displayed on the screen. The user may determine the reason of such mis-operation or confirm whether to continue the operation through the prompt message.

3.5 Store and Recall of System State and Testing Parameter The internal large memory of the system can store up to 300 groups of system test state data sets. Therefore system test state data of calibrated probes for different applications or specific to workpieces can be saved to records (datasets). Before testing, the corresponding saved records can be recalled. After releasing the freeze state, testing is available immediately. Thus toggle between different test states is very fast, which allows easy management and less complicated calibration on the system.
3.6 System Parameter Setup Specific to Testing 1) For large workpieces or coarse-crystal material testing or when high sensitivity is required, set Power at High and Damping at Low, so as to increase system test sensitivity. 2) For situations of thin workpiece testing or high resolution is required, set Power at Low and Damping at High, so as to increase system test resolution but the test sensitivity will decrease accordingly. When testing with a narrow-pulse probe, set Rectify at Pos. or Neg. to further increase resolution. 3) Usually PRF is set 200Hz. 4) Determine system frequency setup based on the rated frequency of the selected probe. For a 2.5MHz probe, the test sensitivity surplus for the step 1~4MHz is the highest among the available frequency range. 5) Generally, Rej is set 0%.
3.7 Using Battery to Increase Anti-interference When the AC power grid receives strong interference, please use battery for power supply. The power supply from battery effectively cuts off interference signals from AC power grid, while other external interference signals will not easily affect the system.

3.8 Application of PeakEnvelop When PeakEnv. function is enabled, the screen will record the peak values corresponding to all points in horizontal direction within the display range, and display these points in different colors. When higher echoes appear, the corresponding peaks of those positions are refreshed, otherwise they remain unchanged. This application is mainly used for positioning in angle-probe testing and displaying echo envelope.
3.9 Using Different Colors to Achieve Optimal Visual Effect in Application 1) When the system is operated in sunshine outdoors, it is recommended to set the submenu Color (Config main menu) at 2 (white background), so as to increase visual contrast and clarity of the screen. 2) When the system is operated indoors, it is recommended to set the submenu Color (Config main menu) at 1 (black background) for more comfortable visual effect.

Chapter 4
Testing Application and Examples
4.1 Testing with A Normal Probe General testing steps with a normal probe: 1) Set up system initial parameters (Rng, Vel, Dly, PRF, Band, Power, Damping, Thk). 2) Correct system zero and velocity. Please refer to 2.12 Auto Correction. 3) Select either of the below items: (1) Confirm the tested bottom echo or reference sensitivity, based on which increase compensation sensitivity. (2)
Make AVG curves. Please refer to 2.15 AVG.
4) Set up the system test range and save the current system status to a blank dataset and record the dataset number. 5) In field testing, recall the test technique from the preset dataset (If necessary, adjust the scanning sensitivity) and start testing. 6) According to the echo position and amplitude shown up during testing (hitch the gate to the echo and read from the measurement data area), determine whether it is a defect echo and calculate its equivalent (If AVG curves are adopted, the flat-bottom hole equivalent to the echo amplitude can be read from the system measurement data area directly), and then process the workpiece based on the applicable standard.
4.2 Testing with An Angle Probe General testing steps with an angle probe: 1) Setup system initial parameters (Rng, Vel, Dly, PRF, Band, Power, Damping, Thk) 2) Correct system zero and velocity (usually only the system zero can be corrected). Please refer to 2.12 Auto Correction. 3) Use a ruler to measure the probe flank(X_Value)and input it in the system. 4) Input the probe nominal Angle or KValue (If the user is demanding on measurement result, the probe actual angle can be measured with the angle measurement function or a CSK IA 33

Please refer to 2.13 Angle Mesurement). 5) Use a standard test block (such as CSK IIIA) to make DAC curves, and set dB distance and workpiece surface compensation between the three DAC curves according to the applicable standard (such as JB/T 4730-2005, GB11345-1989). Please refer to 2.14 DAC. 6) Set up Rng for testing. Save the current system setup status and DAC curves to a blank dataset and record the dataset number. 7) In field testing, recall the test technique from the preset dataset (If necessary compensate the scanning sensitivity based on the current sensitivity) and start testing. 8) According to the echo position, amplitude shown up during testing and dB difference of DAC curves (hitch the gate to the echo and read from the measurement data area), determine whether it is a defect echo and calculate its equivalent, length and area.
4.3 Application Examples 4.3.1
Application Example of JB/T 4730-2005 Standard
Use a 2.5Z10×10K2 probe, as per JB/T 4730-2005 standard, to test the welding line of a 20mmthick steel plate. The operating procedure is usually as follows: 1) Set up system initial parameters Set the submenu Coor (in Config main menu) at SPath; Set the submenu SPath (in Basic main menu) at 200mm; Set the submenu Vel (in Basic main menu) at 3230m/s; Set the submenu Dly (in Basic main menu) at 0mm; Set the submenu PRF (in Config main menu) at 200Hz; Set the submenu Band (in Config main menu) at 1~4MHz; Set the submenu Power (in Config main menu) at High; Set the submenu Damping (in Config main menu) at Low; Set the submenu Thk (in Config main menu) at 100mm

Make DAC Curves (1)Press DAC to go to DAC main menu. (2)Set the submenu DAC_Op at Record. (3)Use the measured probe to scan a Φ1 hole at the depth of 10mm on the CSK-IIIA test block. Find the peak of the echo and hitch the gate to that echo. Adjust the echo height to around 80%. Press the confirm key
and the first echo reference point is
recorded and the first curve section is drawn. (4)Repeat step (2), and record echoes of the holes from shallow to deep depth at 20mm, 30mm and 40mm. When the reference echo amplitude at a deeper depth is less than 20% of screen display amplitude, increase system sensitivity (gain value) to increase echo amplitude, so as to easily record that echo reference point. (5)After recording the required echo reference points, a group of DAC curves are completed. As per JB/T 4730-2005 standard, the sensitivity of DAC_L3, DAC_L2 and DAC_L1 are: Φ1×6-9dB, Φ1×6-3dB and Φ1×6+5dB. Therefore the submenus 35

Set the submenu Thk (in Config main menu) as the thickness of the workpiece to be tested. In this specific example, the submenu Thk (in Config main menu) is set at 20mm. Save the current system setup status and DAC curves to a blank dataset and record the dataset number.

In field testing, recall the made DAC curves from the submenu Dataset (in Store main menu). When a suspected echo appears within the DAC curve measurement range, hitch the gate to that echo. If the number displayed in the measurement data area HdB field is 5.5 (the number refers to the dB difference between the echo peak within the gate and the currently
selected
curve
DAC_L2),
the
echo
equivalent
shall
be:Φ1×6-
3dB+5.5dB=Φ1×6+2.5dB, which belongs to Class 2 flaw.
4.3.2
Application Example of GB 11345-1989
Use a 2.5Z10×10K2 probe, as per Class B of GB 11345-1989 standard, to test on the welding line of a 20mm-thick steel plate. This technique is also applicable to general welding line testing. In this specific example, the submenu Thk (in Config main menu) is set at 20mm. Save the current system setup status and DAC curves to a blank dataset and record the dataset number. 6) In field testing, recall the made DAC curves from submenu Dataset (in Store main menu). When a suspected echo appears within the DAC curve measurement range, hitch the gate to that echo. Chapter 5
Peripheral Devices, Ports and Accessories
5.1 Probe Ports When testing with the system, use the BNC cable configured with the system or a cable of the same type to connect with a proper probe. All the probe models manufactured by SIUI are suitable for the digital ultrasonic flaw detector CTS-9005. For testing with one probe, either BNC probe connector socket (in internal parallel connection) can be used. While for testing with a dual (TR) probe (one ceramic for transmitting, and the other for receiving) or two probes (one for transmitting, and one for receiving), please be noted that you should connect the transmit probe to the lower socket (a T is marked on the system housing), and the receive probe to the upper socket (with an R mark). The wrong connection may result in abnormality such as echo waveform disorder.
5.2 USB Port 5.2.1
Connecting to a USB Disk
Operation: 1) Connect a USB disk to the system USB port directly. 2) After 10 seconds, the system prompts USB disk connected, indicating the system can identify the USB disk properly. 【Note】: If the system cannot identify the USB disk, please refer to Appendix A Common Failures and troubleshooting.

Removing a USB Disk
Unplug the USB disk form the system USB port directly.

5.3 Battery 5.3.1
Battery Installation and Removal
Please follow the below operation procedure to install the battery (DC-92): 1) Align the contact plate at the bottom of the battery with the port at the lower part of the system and insert the battery (see #1 in Fig.5-1). 2) After inserting the battery, push the battery in place and turn the screw rightwards to fix it (see #2 in Fig.5-1). Please follow the below operation procedure to remove the battery: 1) Loosen the screw leftwards to take out the screw (see #1 in Fig.5-2). 2) Take out the battery upwards (see #2 in Fig.5-2).

Charging the Battery
Operation: 1) Insert the charger/adaptor (CD-92A) plug into the AC socket (AC 100V~240V).

Shantou Institute of Ultrasonic Instruments Co., Ltd. 2) Insert the DC Out plug of the charger/adaptor in the battery (DC-92) charge in socket. The indicator on the adaptor will be on (in red) and start recharging. 3) When the charger/adaptor indicator turns green, it means the recharge is finished. Usually it takes 6 hours for one full recharge. 4) Disconnect the charger/adaptor from AC power supply and the battery. 【Note】: When the battery is recharged, it is normal if the charger/adaptor indicator flashes between red and green in a short time.
5.3.3
Using the Battery
The battery capacity indicator is located on the right of the measurement data area. The higher the indicator is, the higher capacity will be. When there is 20% capacity left, it means that the battery power is running out, and you should recharge or replace the battery in time. A new DC92 battery, if fully charged, may work continuously over 7 hours. 【Note】: When the battery power is very low, to avoid battery over-discharge, the system will be turned off automatically.
5.3.4
Battery Maintenance
The capacity and the service life of the rechargeable battery depend on whether the battery is used properly. Please recharge the battery DC-92 with the configured charger/adaptor (CD-92A). On how to recharge the battery, please refer to 5.3.2 Charging the Battery. In the following cases, the battery shall be charged: 1) Before using the battery for the first time; 2) If the battery is stored for or over 3 months; 3) After frequent discharge.
5.3.5 a)
Airlift Requirements for battery For air transporting the system, the battery should be put in the system and placed in the unchecked baggage. For shipping, insulating terminals of the battery and placing the

Shantou Institute of Ultrasonic Instruments Co., Ltd. battery inside the system. (although switch of the system prevents unintentional activation );
b)
For air transporting the battery, be sure to insulate terminals of the battery (such as placing single battery in a separate plastic bag or protective case to prevent short circuit) and put battery in the unchecked baggage.
【Note】: Battery matching this system has passed the test required in the section 38.3 of Part III of UN Manual of Tests and Criteria. If you have any questions, please contact local aviation authorities for further guidance.
5.3.6
Cautions on using the battery:
1) When the system is being operated with an adaptor or the battery is being recharged, please connect with stable and reliable mains power supply (AC 100V~240V, 50Hz~60Hz); 2) The system battery (DC-92)can only be recharged with the charger (CD-92A)and the method specified in this Operation Manual. 3) Please recharge the system battery in a cool and ventilated room, otherwise, the battery charging effect might be affected. 4) When the system is not in use for a long time, the battery should be recharged and discharged at least once every three months. 5) During storage or transportation, the battery shall be stored with half capacity, i.e. its voltage shall be 7.2V~7.7V, so as to avoid any gas generated or gas inflation. 6) When system battery comes to the end of its service life, in order to avoid environmental pollution, do not discard, break or crush the battery at will. Please dispose it properly according to applicable laws and regulations or national standards. 7) It is prohibited to throw the battery into fire, so as to avoid explosion or producing toxic chemicals. 8) Do not charge the battery near fire source or in extremely hot environment. 9) It is prohibited to make electric conductor contact battery pole plate, so as to avoid short circuit.

Shantou Institute of Ultrasonic Instruments Co., Ltd. 10) Keep the battery from moisture and never throw it into water. 11) Do not store the battery in the temperature higher than 60℃ or lower than -20℃; 12) Do not use the battery if it is in peculiar smelling, heats, distortion, changed color or any other abnormity.
5.4 Charger/Adaptor The system configured charger/adaptor (CD-92A) can serve as the system adaptor and the system battery charger.
Cautions on using the charger/adaptor: 1) Do not use the adaptor (charger) on a plug-loosen socket. 2) Do remember that the total load of the adaptor (charger) plugged into the socket shall not exceed its rated load.

Chapter 6
Training, System Maintenance and Service
6.1 Training To ensure a safe and proper operation, the operator shall receive appropriate training on ultrasound testing, and read this operation instruction before operating this system. The lack of relevant knowledge on ultrasound testing may lead to unpredictable wrong testing results. Therefore, to acquire information on ultrasonic testing training and qualification, please contact relevant NDT societies, organizations or SIUI.
6.2 System Maintenance Please use the factory configured accessories and options, such as the BNC probe cable and the communication cable. Incompatible cables may result in system internal circuit failure or external connector damage. DO NOT drop any liquid into the system. The system housing, glass panel and other parts can be cleaned with a piece of cloth soaked with a little water or neutral household cleanser. 【Note】: DO NOT use any solvent to clean the system. The plastic parts may be damaged or become fragile if being cleaned with solvent.
6.3 Service The system adopts the latest technologies and is made of high quality components. The process inspection, the in-process testing and the quality management system are all certified by ISO9001, ensuring that the system performance is optimized. SIUI provide 2 years’ warranty for the system main unit. In case any failure is found in the system, please shut off the system and take out the battery. Contact SIUI service department whenever it is necessary to repair or recalibrate the system. The warranty does not cover any unauthorized repair or disassembly. Under the following situations, the safe operation of the system is not ensured: 44
Shantou Institute of Ultrasonic Instruments Co., Ltd. 1) The system is obviously damaged (with abnormal display or internal sound). 2) The system is stored in adverse environment for a long time (e.g. abnormal temperature or high humidity, or erosive condition). 3) Severe fall-down or pressure during transportation. 【Note】: Before transportation, the system shall be packed to meet the requirements of shockproof, waterproof and humidity-proof, in order to avoid system damage due to rain, snow, mechanical collision or strong shock.

The system cannot power on If the power supply is from the battery: 1)
Try to replace the battery with full capacity if the capacity is low;

Check if the system is connected to the charger/ adaptor plug, or if the plug come loose;
2)
Check if the charger/ adaptor indicator is on (if on, which means it works properly);

If the battery is not used on the system, try to use the system with a fully charged battery.

The system cannot power off
a)
Long press the power key
for 8 seconds to force the system shutdown;
b)
If force shutdown fails, unplug the charger/ adaptor or remove the battery to cut off power supply. Reboot the system to see whether it is in normal operation. If not, try to contact the distributor or SIUI for repair as soon as possible.

No “USB disk connected” prompt when a USB disk is

It takes about 10 seconds for the system to identify the USB disk. Check if the USB is still being detected;

unplug and then plug in the USB disk again;

When measuring a round-hole flaw, the horizontal distance to be measured is between
