Casing Design Program
INSTRUCTIONS: THE VERY FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO IS RUN "SAVE AS" AND NAME YOUR FILE. THAT WAY YOU WORK WITH YOUR NAMED FILE AND DON'T CORRUPT THE MASTER SPREADSHEET.
This workbook contains the following spreadsheets: NOTE: FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE, ALL FIELDS THAT REQUIRE INPUT ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN
Tab 3:
BLUE
Casing Design - This spreadsheet is used for designing the casing program for your well. Additional instructions will be found through out the Casing Design spreadsheet. INSTRUCTIONS: 1.
Fill in the Depth, Pore Pressure and Mud Weight data for your well.
2.
To assist you, depths will be filled in after you indicate the total depth of your well.
3.
Place your casing points in the information where appropriate for the depth.
4.
There are some boxes on top of the casing data for enterning the casing where you are not running a
5.
You will then move onto the next section of the spreadsheet "Max. Anticipated Surface Pres."
6.
Fill in this page. Some areas will pop up as you enter data due to calculations being made for you.
7.
Recommend that the casing design sheet be printed at this point.
8.
At the bottom of each casing string load sheet will be the equation for calculating the safety factors.

9. Fill in the blanks and calculate the safety factors. Write in the numbers on the "Casing Program" sheet. 10. Fill in the rest of the "Casing Program" sheet and type in the data. Print this sheet for entry into Drlg Program.
Tab 4:
PP Data - This speadsheet contains the data for the Pore Pressure, Mud Weight and frac gradient plot. Some of the data is already filled in the table. You will have to follow instructions on this sheet to obtain the plot you desire.
Tab 5:
PP Plot - The Pore Pressure plot. It will print on A4 paper.
