Coven of Athos - lesson1...

Description

NUMBER ONE.

You are going to be told the rituals and symbols of one body or clan of White Witches; this is known as the Coven of Atho. We must first tell you that ATHO is the name of the Horned God of Witchcraft. This large, carved wooden figure is the Key to all the old Dianic Laws (at least all the Laws that this coven is conversant with.) For hundreds of years the figure-head and all its secrets has been hidden and only shown to the inner members of our Circle. The reason for this was because our leaders or Elders feared that the terrible Witchcraft 'trials' of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries might happen again. This Head of Atho was removed from its hiding place by a Sister of Atho and carried all round the country in her little Romany caravan. Her name was Alicia Franch; I was her pupil in Magick and she taught me all the things I am going to teach you. On the Forehead of the Head of Atho there are Five Circles. Starting with the outer circle and working in to the centre one they are :- (I) The Circle of Fertility. (2) Brotherhood. (3) Vitality. (4) Travel, and (5) Return. I have sent you our Symbols this month for you to learn. Next month, on the night of the full Moon and after our circle has been cast, I shall send you the first of the Five Circles and what it means. You will receive the second Circle a month after and so on until you know their purpose. This sixth month will be a summing up of the

Circles and the secret of the Eight Paths of Magick, and on the seventh month you will be sent an answer to any of your personal problems. If you are not clear on any point please do not write until you have received your Key to the Eight Paths of Magick. Now I must thank you for your enquiry into our great Brotherhood and tell you that when we cast our circle on the night of the next full Moon every one of you will be remembered and the blessing of Diana, the Goddess of Nature will be asked for you. Have patience. Nothing worth-while can be done in a hurry. You must have time to reflect on what you are being taught.

The Sign of the Coven of Atho. It is the trident of The Water city. (The first of our Covens to be founded.)

The Pentagram. This is the Five Points of Man. (Stand with your arms held out and your legs apart; you will be making a pentagram.)

The Five Circles. The inner two are joined by a cross. This is because they are The Circle of Travel (Clairvoyance) and the Circle of Return (Returning in Spirit after Death.) In other words the two circles are joined because a living person is speaking for a Spirit.
