Summary of the Case… • HSS is a High End Textile Company at Bangalore • The company wants to start a plant at Hassan situated near Bangalore
• HSS hires Maniyam as GM-HR • He plans to reach out rural areas focusing on girls who have completed their 12th std.
• Maniyam studies geography of Karnataka and narrows down on ninedistricts • Maniyam contact principals of the nine districts to identify potential candidates
• He also sets up a training center ,hostel facilities and invites and MBA from U.K. • In October, principals from the nine districts arrived along with the MD and VP-HR of HSS ltd. • The MD and VP-HR explained Maniyam that his style of functioning did not comply with the culture of HSS. • Maniyam got shocked and responded by submitting his papers i.e. he resigned from HSS ltd. • Maniyam thought that the VP-HR was jealous because he was of the same age. • Later, HSS recruited 500 girls from Karnataka with a salary of Rs.3000+ per month.

Answer: Maniyam – An Ethical person. The VP-HR was successful in convincing MD of the company that the company did not require ethics as much as it required Growth and Profit.
