Computer application for DFMA by p.Suresh Kumar

Computer application uses  creating a level platform as the basis for

communication between manufacturers and design teams, problem solving relationships are developed and successful products are the outcome.  The Term “DFMA” comes with the combination of DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFM (Design of Manufacturing). The basic concept of it is that the design engineers apply the DFMA paradigm or software to analyze the manufacturing and assembly problems at the early design stage.  DFMAsoftware provides a program which can analyze the developed plan, design, and technology. Designers use the program to analyze the cost of manufacturing, assembly and maintenance in order to make the final products low-priced, reliable and easy assembly.

Process of computer application  All these activities are numbered and plotted. It

automatically provides suggestions for improvement.  System provides suggestions for design and indicating every task with its time saving and its percentage reduction. It indicates specific instructions to perform the related tasks in order to obtain the suggested savings.  It also lists design for assembly analysis totals all parameters used for analysis such as total assembly time, totally assembly cost, total assembly weight, number of parts, sub assemblies theoretical minimum numbers of parts or unanalysed sub assemblies and the hourly labour rate.  All suggestions and comments included in the computer generated tables are automatically provided to aid the designers and manufacturing engineers to obtain a better view of the job

and cost. these the costing values generated by the software are based upon real-world information software tools provide a quantifiable way to identify unnecessary parts and determine assembly times and costs. Even the smallest design change can be evaluated, allowing for the cost drivers for each part/assembly to be easily identified. Increase the quality Decrease the cost, including the cost of design, technology, manufacturing, delivery, technical support, discarding and so on. Shorten the developing cycle time,
