Business Description The Howard Hughes Corporation (THHC) is a real estate company created to specialize in the development of master planned communities and other strategic real estate development opportunities across the United States. The Company owns a portfolio of properties with near, medium and long-term development opportunities, including its master planned communities, mall development projects and a series of mixed-use development opportunities in locations. THHC operates its business in three lines of business: Master Planned Communities, Operating Assets and Strategic Development. The Company's Master Planned Communities segment consists of the development and sale of residential and commercial land, primarily in large-scale projects. Its Operating Assets include commercial, mixed use and retail properties generating revenues. Its Strategic Development segment is made up of a mix of near, medium and long-term real estate properties and development projects. For the fiscal year ended 31 December 2010, Howard HughesCorp.'s revenues increased 5% to $142.7M. Net loss decreased 90% to $69.4M. Revenues reflect increase in other rental and property revenues. Lower net loss also reflects decrease in general and administrative, lower provisions for doubtful accounts, decreased land sales operations, a fall in depreciation & amortization expense and higher equity in income from real estate affiliates.
