Miko’s Codemaster Guide
This is a game guide for Code Master, Miko’s Coding Game. There are two ways to open Miko’s Code Master. 1. On the top right-hand corner of the My Miko app, you will find the icon of a game controller. This open’s Miko’s Playhouse, which contains all the games which can be downloaded and played with Miko. On this screen, you will find Miko’s Code Master, Tap the play button to play the game. 2. Open Miko’s Code Master app after downloading and play directly. 3. You can exit the game at any time by taping the back button.
1. Once you tap the play button you will be taken to the chapters screen, it is here you can select and play the chapters that will teach your child coding. 2. Each chapter is based on a different topic and contains 10 levels which will gradually teach the child coding concepts of that topic. 3. Each chapter will unlock as you complete the previous one. 4. The Top Left Arrow will take the player back to the main menu screen. 5. The icons shown on the screens are respectively as:
Activity Icon
Chapters Icon
Takes you to the activity screen.
This takes you back from the activity screen to the chapters screen.
Settings Icon
Achievements Icon
Adjust the Music & Sounds effects of the game.
Takes you to the achievement screen.
1. Once you tap the Chapter you want to play, you will be taken to the chapter level screen, where you will be able to play the levels within the chapter. 2. Each level will unlock as you complete the previous one. 3. For completing each level your child will receive a star rating based on his performance in that level. 4. We know your child might outshine the star ratings, if so then your child will receive an extra credit ribbon as well, this will be given for completing a level in a single attempt. 5. When 10 levels within a chapter are completed an activity will be unlocked and can be accessed via the Activity Screen. 6. The Top Left Arrow will take the player back to the previous screen.
This is the in-game screen, where all the action takes place. The various elements in this screen are : Hamburger Menu This lets players exit the level, go to the chapters screen or change the settings of the game. Chapter/ LevelMarker
This helps players know the current chapter and the level being played.
Blocks Counter
This lets players know the number of blocks used and available for the solution.
Code Blocks
The objects in the centre of the workspace (When Run, Move Front) are known as code blocks and are arranged to create a solution.
Blocks Drawer
The panel to the left with options such as Drive, Lights, Display etc. is known as the Blocks Drawer, it is here where all the codes blocks to be used for the various tasks are found. Drive
Contains code blocks to control the Navigation of Miko. You can make Miko move forward, move backward,turn left and turn right.
Light
Contains Code blocks to Control Miko’s lights and its patterns. You can make Miko’s side rims and ear lights glow Red, yellow, orange, blue, light pattern Blink, fade in etc.
Display Contains set of commands to emote mikos emotions. Sounds
Contains set of commands to play sounds.
Objectives Panel
This area displays the objectives for the current level.
Run Button
Once the code is assembled and connected to the “When Run” Block, use this button to Run the code.
Reset Button
This will clear the entire workspace and reset the level.
Map Button
This button display the map to understand the level objective.
Solution Button
This button appears after 5 retry attempts have been made to clear the level. Once the solution button is tapped, the solution for the level is added in the workspace. (*Note - This instantly gives players 1 star if used.)
Trash Can
Code Blocks to be deleted can be dragged and dropped here.
Types of Code Blocks There are various types of code blocks that can be found throughout the game in Code Master they all fall under one of these categories : Fundamental The “When Run” block is an example of it. This block Blocks appears automatically in each level and for your code to run, all blocks must be connected to this block via a code block chain. Any block not connected to this block will not execute. Present Movable These are blocks provided in the level workspace which are part of the solution and can be moved by players, but Blocks cannot be deleted. Present Non-Movable Blocks :
These are blocks provided in the level workspace which are part of the solution which cannot be moved or deleted by players.
Non-Editable Blocks
These are usable blocks, which can be used by players to create a solution. These are simple blocks which cannot be edited and must be used as it is.
Editable Blocks These are usable blocks, which can be used by players to create a solution, these blocks are denoted by the “Drop Down” arrow(s) present next to their respective fields. When the drop down arrow is tapped an additional pop-up is opened allowing players to edit the field values.
Map Indicators These are various indicators which can be found on the Map screen, these provide hints to players as to the type of action that needs to be perform at that particular spot in the map. : Turn Right 180 – This is used to indicate when players have to Turn Miko around 180 Degrees from the Right Hand Side. Turn Left 180 – This is used to indicate when players have to Turn Miko around 180 Degrees from the Left Hand Side. Rotate Clockwise – This is used to indicate when players have to Turn Miko around 360 Degrees from the Right Hand Side. Rotate Anticlockwise – This is used to indicate when players have to Turn Miko around 360 Degrees from the Left Hand Side. Light Bulb Icon – This is used to indicate when players have to change the Light Colour or Set a Lightn Pattern or Both. (This is indicated via the objective text)
Achievements Screen All the conquests and exploits players have achieved during their game sessions will be displayed here in all its glory. These comprise of : Coding Level – This level increases as players collect more and more stars in every levels.
Extra Coding Level – This level increases as players collect extra credits in levels.
Badges – These are awarded and indicate the Chapters which have been successfully completed by players. Each chapter has a badge of its own.
Certificates – Tapping on a badge, will reveal the cool “Certificate of Completion” awarded for the completion of that chapter. Each chapter has a certificate of its own, which players can show-off to their friends.
