Close Protection Training

Special Projects Ltd

Clearwater Special Projects is one of the leading names in the Specialist Security Industry. Established in 1999, we have constantly set new benchmarks within Close Protection Training and Operations. Over the last fifteen years we have evolved into a respected name that is highly regarded across the globe. The Name ‘Clearwater’ is synonymous with this Industry and with quality and integrity. You can be assured that our Close Protection Training will deliver to you what you need to work within this business.

You need a license to work in the Close Protection business If you are wishing to work in Close Protection within the UK (and some British Contracts within other Countries) you will require a licence as it is against the law to work without one. The Security Industry Authority (SIA) sets the standards and regulates the British Security Industry making this Industry licensable and lawful. Clearwater were part of the initial consultancy process with the SIA and have played an active role in setting standards including the British Standard For Close Protection Services (BS 8507-1:2008). Clearwater was the first company in the UK to be awarded ‘Approved Contractor Status’ (ACS) for Close Protection Operations and Training with the SIA.

How do I obtain my license? If you are wishing to pursue a career in the Close Protection Industry you will need to undertake an approved training course that is a minimum of 140 hours in duration. This ensures that you can apply for a Close Protection front Line license. We are approved by the awarding HABC (Highfields) and they are vigilant in verifying that we maintain and deliver the high standards that you would expect to work in this demanding and elite industry.
