Chara Dasha Lesson 1  Chara Dasha Order & Calculations By

Tushar kumar Bhowmik Chara Dasha is the dasha of Rashi’s and not planets, as in Vimshottari Dasha of   Parashari System.

Order of Dasha: Here the order of dasha is either direct (anti-c (anti-clockwi lockwise/Zodiac se/Zodiac wise) or indirect (clockwise/anti-zodiac wise). Direct Order: Aries, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Aquarius and Pisces Indirect Order: Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn. Eg: For Aries Lagna the dasha order will be Direct. Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces.

For Taurus Lagna the dasha order will be In-Direct: Taurus, Aries, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, Sagittarius, Scorpio, Libra, Virgo, Leo,Cancer, Gemini.

Chara Dasha Lesson 1 

The same rule applies to sub-periods but the main Dasha Rashi’s sub-period sub-period comes last in order. Eg: For Aries Lagna (Direct), the order of sub-periods for Aries Dasha: Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and then Aries in the last. For Taurus Lagna (In-direct), the order of sub-periods for Taurus Dasha: Aries, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, Sagittarius, Scorpio, Libra, Virgo, V irgo, Leo, Cancer, Gemini and in the last Taurus.

Calculation of Duration of Dasha

Count the number of houses from the Dasha Rashi to the rashi lord. Deduct 1 from the total. You get the concerned Rashi Dasha duration. Direct Order Rashi’s  (Savya): 

Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Libra, Scorpio and

Sagittarius.  Note: The Direct Order here is different to the one discussed discussed before. Here the direct order means to count from the starting dasha sign till the sign lord in direct order i.e. anti-clockwise or  Zodiac wise. Indirect Order Rashi’s  (Apasavya)

:  Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Capricorn, Aquarius,

Chara Dasha Lesson 1 

Eg: Let’s assume:  assume:  For Aries Dasha (Direct), the Aries lord Mars is placed in 5 th house from Aries. We get 5, deduct 1 from it and you get the total duration of Aries Dasha i.e. 4 years.

For Cancer Dasha (In-direct), the Lord of Cancer-Moon is placed in 10th house from Cancer. We get 10, deduct 1 from it and you get the total duration of Cancer Dasha i.e. 9 years.

 Note: 1. If the Lord of a rashi is placed in the same rashi, we give the dasha 12 years without any deductions. 2. For Scorpio Dasha, special rules should be observed as it has the dual lordship of Mars & Ketu. a. If anyone, Mars or Ketu, is placed in Scorpio itself, then we should use the other to calculate the number of years for the dasha and ignore the one placed in Scorpio. Standard rules of deductions still apply.  b. If both are placed in Scorpio, give full 1 12 2 years without any deductions. c. If both of them are placed in rashi other than Scorpio. Chara Dasha Lesson 1  3. For Aquarius Dasha same set of rules, as for Scorpio, applies because b ecause of the dual ownership of Saturn and Rahu. Calculation of Duration of Sub-Periods 1. Each sub-period, in months, is equal to the number of years of Dasha. 2. Similarly, each sub-sub-period, in days, is directly proportional to the number of months for Sub-Period. Chara Dasha Lesson 1  D- Direct, I- Indirect

In a similar way, we can calculate the sub-periods and their duration, which brings us to the end of Part-1. The next part will show us how to use Jaimini Arudha System, Jaimini Raj Yoga’s and other alternative Lagan’s used in Jaimini System for finer predictions.

How to Predict Using Jaimini Chara Dasha

Step 1: Mark all the Seven Seven  Chara Karaka’s excluding Rahu & Ketu + Mark Karkamsha Mark  Karkamsha Lagna  Lagna + House Pada’s spl. Upapada   Upapada Step 2: Read and understand the chart while marking the various yoga’s formed by these Chara Karaka’s.  Karaka’s.  Step 3: See the placement of current Chara Dasha from the Birth Lagna. Step 4: Treat the current Dasha Rashi as Lagan and check how the Karaka’s have  been placed, including various yoga’s i.e the promise of the particular Rashi Dasha. Step 5:  Analyze each sub-period in the same way as the step 4 but keeping the  promise identified in Step 4 in the mind. mind.

 Dasha Sequence: Aries 1982-1987, Taurus ( 1987-1996), Gemini ( 19962005),Cancer (2005-2016)  (2005-2016)   Note the position of AK-Saturn from the Dasha periods. AK significator for 1st House-Self, Identity, Soul,Body etc. In Aries Dasha, AK was placed in 6th house. The focus area for the soul was to maintain health as the native fell ill number of times. Also, change of residence and loss of sibling ( that was a birth chart promise which w hich manifested in this Dasha). AK being in dual sign aspecting 3rd,9th and 12th which clears the picture. In Taurus Dasha, AK was placed in 5th house. The focus area for the soul was education and recreation. Did well in studies and sports.Also, birth of second sibling. AK aspecting 8th,11th & 2nd house. In Gemini Dasha, AK was placed in the 4th House. The focus area for the soul was home environment, education, mother. AK aspecting 1st,7th & 10th. Few non-life threatening accidents. accidents. Father had a almost fatal accident. In Cancer Dasha, AK was placed in the 3rd house. The focus area for the soul have  been struggle & overcoming hurdles, traveling & change of residence,Higher education including foreign, debts-student loan,career progress & changes. Chara Dasha Lesson 1  Like this we can judge for every Dasha the main focus area for soul. Obviously, other Char Karaka’s play their parts but in hindsight, when you will look back, these will be the focus area for the soul.
