Background Of The Study:
Paper plays a very vital role in our community. We need it to have something to write on, print on, wrap materials and many more. Nowadays, the prices of commercial papers are increasing and increasing, since it is needed to help people in many different ways. But then again, cutting a large amount of trees is needed to produce paper, which is the cause of balding baldin g of forests, flooding, landslides and more that may harm our environment. So we, the researchers have conducted a study that may be may be biologically and environmentally beneficial. The ‘ Cocos Nucifera Husk and Leaf Paper ‘. Since Coconut is known in this country and is very common, we have planned to use it as an alternative for papers. In the Philippines, Coconut is most commonly known as the ‘ Tree Of Life ‘ because almost every part of it has a lot of uses is our everyday lives. Like the Coconut leaves and the husks. Coconut Coconu t leaves and husks have fibers that may help make paper. Every year, we produce a lot of coconut husks and leaves that may usually end up in garbages or even left at the sides of the streets. streets. Coconut has fibre that that can be used to be able to make paper. Its fibre is also known as Coir. Studies say that it has the highest toughness amongst natural fibres, it is extracted from the outer side of the shell. It may be very helpful, since we can help contribute to the conservation of trees and may be able to decrease the waste of our environment by reusing materials that are usually thrown away.
Statement Of The Problem:
1.) Would it be able to be an effective alternative material for making a successful paper? 2.) Would we (the researchers) be able to construct a paper made from Coconut husks and leaves? 3.) Would the quality of the paper be long lasting and safe to use?
Hypothesis: Alternative:
The larger the amount of Coconut Co conut husks and leaves, the greater it would strengthen the quality of the paper. Null:
The lesser the amount of Coconut husks and leaves, the lesser it would strengthen the quality of the paper.
Significance Of The Study:
The importance of this study is to make cheaper and and a more durable paper. And also be able to contribute to the preservation of trees, also helping to reduce waste such as coconut husks and leaves, making them more useful and turning them into something useful.
Scope and Limitations:
This product is used ONLY for the use of writing, printing on, wrapping things and etc. Do NOT use it for cleaning, drying, scratching, sharpening objects and others that may not be relevant to the product.
Definition Of Terms: Coconut Husks – This material, also known as
Coir
is fibrous, which means it contains fibre.
This is extracted from the outer surface of the coconut. Besides paper, it is made into many products such as mats, carpets, ropes, bristles and many more.
Coconut Leaves – Coconut leaves contain cellulose that may contribute to making a successful
paper, and is also used for houses as roofing material, cooking and for storage.
