H40120, H40122, H40121, H40123, H43824 and H43825 Introduction The The Ba Bake kerr Mo Mode dell “N-1 “N-1”” and “NC“NC-1” 1” Brid Bridge ge Plugs are high performance performance drillable bridge plugs, plugs, commonly commonly used for zonal isolation isolation during stimulastimulation or cementing jobs, or for temporary and permanent abandonments. The Model “N-1” can easily be converted to a Model “K-1” Cement Retainer or a Model “NC-1” Bridge Bridge Plug. Plug. The Model Model “NC-1” “NC-1” is a modifie modified d Model Model “N-1” Bridge Plug for use primarily in gas well applications. The design of the “NC-1” allows the upper portion of the body and the bridging plug to be drilled out, permitting pressure equalization across the tool before drilling out the upper slips. A shear ring mechanism is used to minimize the amount of material to be drilled out by the center of the drill bit.

The materials used in this product must satisfy strict quality control specifications and are designed to break up into small pieces during the drilling-out operation.

Thus the recommendations listed below should be used as a guide only and, under conditions other than normal past experience and common sense should govern the drilling-out operation.

H42802) should be installed in the drilling string in order to trap cuttings. This will serve two purposes. a. A new new,, high high quality quality,, med medium ium hard format formation ion rock bit with medium to short, regularly spaced teet teeth h such such the the Hu Hughe ghes s WO shou should ld be used used.. Se Se-lect a bit that will not “track,” and of a size that will will give give minimu minimum m cleara clearance nce bet betwee ween n the bit and the casing. It is recommended that bits with “wings” between the outer teeth not be used. 3. Circulating Circulating down down the drill pipe or tubing will allow larger pieces of the tool to be circulated up into into the junk basket basket rather rather tha than n revers reverse e circul circulatating. This will usually usually result in faster faster drill out. 4. When When feeling feeling for the tool, try to avoid avoid any impact pact wh whic ich h migh mightt brea break k some some of the the teet teeth h on the the bit. Experience has shown that rotary speeds between 50 and 75 rpm will give the best results under normal conditions. 5. Gradua Gradually lly set down 5,000 5,000 lbs on the tool tool and drill for 5-10 minutes. Drill up the mandrel which exte extend nds s abov above e the the slip slips s and and allow allow the bit bit to seat seat on the full full diamet diameter. er. Gradua Gradually lly increa increase se set set down weight to about 2,000 lbs per inch of bit diameter. If the rate of penetration drops, increased weight, or varying the speed should be tried until the rate of penetration penetration picks up.

Use a “Basic Unit” Unit” and parts listed below. 1. Ensure Ensure that the O-Ring is installed on the Bridging Plug. Lubricate Lubricate sealing sealing end of Bridging Bridging Plug and slide into Body or Body Insert. Install Belleville Washers over end of Body (Sizes 1AA-5AA only). 2. Thread Thread Guide on Body until it shoulders shoulders against against Bridging Plug. Plug. 3. Align lug on Bridging Bridging Plug: (A) with groove in Bridge Plug Guide Guide or (B) with any port in the Cement Cement Retainer Guide. 4. Make-up Make-up Guide wrench tight. 1. Thread Guide Guide on Body and tighten Set Screw. Screw. Lower Slip should should be tight. 2. Install Install Model “NC-1” “NC-1” type Bridging Bridging Plug with O-Ring O-Ring into the TOP END of body. 3. Align tapped tapped hole in Body with a hole in the “NC-1” Bridging Bridging Plug. Install Install Hex. Soc. Soc. Set Screw.

Warning Lock Spring must be used to prevent Tool from backing off WLPSA. 4. Install Install Adjuster Adjuster Sub and Setting Setting Sleeve (No. (No. 20 WLPSA) and Setting Sleeve only (No. 10 WLPSA) on Model “E-4” WLPSA. Wireline Adapter Kits For “NC-1” Wireline Bridge Plug, Product Family No. H40021 Refer to Drawing No. 754-055-2 Use the appropriate size Baker Wireline Adapter Kit (Product Family No. H43825) to make up the Brid Bridge ge Plug Plug to the the Ba Bake kerr Mo Model del “E-4 “E-4”” Wire Wireli line ne Pressure Setting Assembly. 1. Remove Remove Lock Nut from from Shear Mandrel Mandrel and slip slip Shear Ring over Shear Mandrel with SHEAR FLANGE DOWN. Insert Shear Mandrel into top end of Bridge Plug Body and let it rest in the bevel of the hole. 2. With With Shear Shear Ring Ring rest restin ing g in bevel bevel of hole hole in Body, slip Installation Tool over Shear mandrel 3. With With Instal Installat lation ion Tool resti resting ng on Shear Shear Ring, Ring, strike it a medium blow with a hammer to collaps lapse e the the Sh Shea earr Ring Ring and and forc force e it into into its its groove. 4. Pull up on Shear Ring Ring to locate shear shear shoulder shoulder of Mandrel against Shear Ring. The topface of the upset end of the Shear mandrel should now
be just above the top edge of the Shear Ring. This indicates the Shear Ring is correctly installed.Thread Lock Nut onto Shear Mandrel. Insert screwdriver in slot at top of Shear Mandrel, and hold to prevent rotation and tighten Lock Nut until it shoulders shoulders against top of Body. 5. All or part of the groove groove in the Shear Mandr Mandrel el should be visible above the Lock Nut to ensure that the shear shoulder is seated against the Shear Ring. The Lock Nut will lock the Shear Mandrel to the plug rotationally to allow making the Plug up on the Wire Line Pressure Setting Assembly. Warning Do not use a wrench wrench to make make up Bridge Bridge Plug on the the WLPS WLPSA. A. this this coul could d shea shearr the the top top Slips when made up too tight. If, at any time after the Shear Ring has been installed in the shear groove it is decided not to run the Brid Bridge ge Plug Plug,, the the Shea Shearr Ma Mand ndre rell can can be removed by prying the Shear Ring out of its groove with a screwdriver.
