CASE ANALYSIS I-
Title of the Case Halting a Dangerous Project
II-
View Point Sam was Alpha Electronic’s project leader that manufactured weaponry devices. In the mid 1980s, he was doing business with NATO government agencies to create an advanced technology land mines. Both companies work together without a problem. However, Sam was concerned that they will make a land mine more dangerous than any others in the market. After the NATO contract was finished, he found out that his company had signed another contract with Eastern European firm that had a reputation of stealing untested devices and also doing business with terrorist organization. Sam decided to stop the production of the devices and asked advice to his colleagues. And then, he contacted all the agencies that concern in his products and safety of the nation. On this contract that Sam unilaterally voided, there was $15,000 penalty for breaking the contract. On the basis of global corporate citizenship, Alpha Electronics could legally produce device for the NATO countries only because Cold War was in full swing at that time. And on the basis of Local corporate citizenship, Alpha Electronics had to consider the expected impact on local communities. Sam was never punished for his unilateral action for stopping the production of those devices. He was especially gratified by the Alpha employees who were veterans in World War II. Sam strongly believed his action was the right thing to do, both for his company and for the public welfare.

Problem Statement
IV-
In this case, Sam was not informed about the signing of contract in Eastern European firm after they finish the contract of NATO government. And lately, they found out that Eastern European firm was doing dirty business that harmed the public welfare and also his company. They do not investigate the background of the client before they accepting the project. Objective of the Case
The objective of this case is to consider the public safety first and not the money that you earn in the project. V-
SWOT Analysis Strength – Sam consider the effect of his project if it use by the untrusted company like Eastern European firm. And he has a brave personality to face his consequences for his independent action to stop the production of the devices. Weakness – Alpha Electronic have a lack of background research about their clients before they accepting another contract. Opportunity – Alpha Electronic’s products will be wide spread in the world because of their high technology weapons. They will have a large income if they sell it in other nations. Threat – Alpha Electronic’s product will harm the public welfare. This will also start another war that can cause big number of death people.
VI-
Alternative courses of Action As a project leader of Alpha Electronics, Sam should be informed before accepting other contract. They must also do some background research on the clients before they sign the contract. If Sam did not stopped the production of that devices, his company and the public welfare will be harm by his client who are doing business in the terrorist organization.
