When the rinse cycle is over, the BLUE button and the multifunction indicator lights (RED and ORANGE) blink alternately. The machine will emit a beep.

SAFETY WARNINGS Please keep these instructions safe. It is necessary to pay attention to these warnings in order to avoid the risk of personal injury and damage to the appliance.

Do not use the appliance if it is damaged in any way. At the first sign of defects or unusual noises or smells, turn off the appliance and unplug. In such cases contact an Authorized Service Centre. Only use the appliance if the power cord is intact. If the cord is damaged, you should contact an Authorized Service Centre. Danger of electric shocks. Do not leave the power cord near hot .surfaces, sharp edges or other sharp objects. When disconnecting the appliance, pull on the plug, not the cord; otherwise it may be damaged. Only connect the appliance to power outlets complying with the requirements of law. Make sure that the power supply voltage matches the rating shown on the data on the bottom of the appliance. To avoid the risk of fire, set the appliance on a flat, heatresistant surface. Only use and store the appliance indoors. Do not let the power cord dangle! Position the cord so there is no risk of tripping. Do not allow the appliance to be used by children or persons with impaired, physical or sensory faculties or insufficient experience and/or skills, unless they are under the careful supervision and guidance of a person responsible for their safety. Children must be kept under supervision to prevent them from playing with the appliance.

During rinse cycle, water will run through the machine. During this phase the indicator lights blink alternately (RED and ORANGE2blinks at a time).

If the container fills up, empty it out.

Never use borewell water and preferably use RO filtered water or bottled water to avoid scaling.

Always close the lever. Never open the lever while the appliance is operating. Always use the appliance with the drip tray and grill in place. The quantity of coffee dispensed can be programmed up to a maximum of 250ml. Danger of injury! Never place your hands inside the capsule compartment. Never remove parts of the appliance. Do not insert objects into the openings. This could cause electric shocks! Any operation that is not described in this instruction manual should only be performed by an Authorized Service Centre!

Place a container (at least 250ml) under the coffee dispensing spout.

Make sure the lever is lowered.

Clean the appliance carefully and regularly. If it is not cleaned, the build-up that forms may be hazardous to your health. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning. Descale the appliance regularly, following the instructions provided. If you do not, the appliance may be damaged and may become harmful to your health. Make sure the electrical elements, plug and cord are dry. Never submerge the appliance in water. Protect the appliance from sprays and drips. Water and electricity together constitute a risk of electrocution.

Keep the buttons pressed and simultaneously turn on the machine by pressing the power on/off switch.

If you do not expect to use the appliance for a long period of time (leaving on vacation, etc.), unplug it.

The machine delivers descaling solution at intervals of around 10 minutes during first stage. During this phase the indicator lights blinks alternately (RED and ORANGE), no need to press the button during each interval and just wait.

If the container fills up, empty it out. Note: First stage of descale cycle lasts for around 40 minutes.

10. DESCALING THE MACHINE (Two stages) First stage: No. 1-11; Second stage: No. 12-20

The machine features an advanced program that monitors how much water is used to beverages. This measurement provides the user with indications as to when machine needs to be descaled . Specific indications are given in chapter 3. Carefully read the directions for on the package of the descaling agent. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and machine surfaces. Do not use vinegar: it could damage your appliance! During descaling, do not turn the machine off.

Prepare the descaling solution following the manufacturer’s directions and pour a liter of solution into the tank

The appliance has been manufactured using high quality materials can be reused. Dispose of the appliance in a suitable waste collection center. When you decide to dispose the appliance, unplug it from the power outlet. Then cut off the power cord as close to the appliance as possible. Directions for correct disposal of the product according to European Directions 2002/96/EC and Italian Legislative no. 151 of 25 July 2005. At the end of its used life, the product should not be disposed with unsorted household waste. It should be taken to suitable selective waste collection centre set up by the local authorities or returned to a retailer who provides this service. Separate collection of an electric household appliance avoids possible negative impact on the environment and health arising from improper and disposal and enables the materials it is made of to be recovered so as to achieve significant savings of energy and resources. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol applied on the product highlights the need to dispose of electric appliances separately. Improper disposal of the product by the user shall be subject to specific administrative sanctions as provided for under current regulations. The packaging is made from recyclable materials. Contact the competent authorities for information regarding local legislation.

INTENDED USE The appliance is made to brew coffee and dispense hot water. It is intended for domestic use and must be used in accordance with these instructions. Use only WAKECUP capsules. Any other use is to be considered improper. Use of the appliance in any manner other than as directed herein could cause harm to persons and void the guarantee. The manufacturer will not be responsible for injury or damage resulting from improper use of the appliance.

9. DAILY MAINTENANCE 1

The first time the machine is used there might be some odour caused by the insulating materials and the heating elements. This disappears after a few minutes.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS (SYMBOLS) CAUTION This is the safety warning symbol. It is used to call your attention to possible risks of personal injury. Abide by the safety messages provided in order to avoid possible injury or death.

8. SAVING ENERGY

DESCRIPTION 1

The machine features a function (normally activated ) which automatically reduced energy consumption by around 98% after one hour since it was last used. To deactivate (or reactivate) this function, proceed as follows:

The indictor light will flash three times and three beeps will be emitted to confirm deactivation of the “Energy Saving” function. To reactivate, proceed step 2, the indicator light will flash twice and two beeps will be emitted to confirm activation of the “Energy Saving”.

Once the “Energy Saving” function has been activated, the machine will automatically reduce consumption one hour after the last use. The buttons will cyclically and solely blink with blue light.

To resume to normal operating mode, press any button or open the lever. The appliance will start warming up. When the appliance is ready for use, the buttons will be steadily lighted blue.

7. PROGRAMMING THE QUANTITY OF COFFEE IN A CUP 1. WARNING! BEFORE YOU START BREWING, MAKE SURE THE CAPSULE CONTAINER IS NOT FULL.

Place the machine on a flat, even, stable, heat-resistant surface, strong enough to bear its weight.

Do not install or use the machine near curtains or other flammable material and do not place anything on top of it during use. Do not place the machine on top of, or close to, additional oven or other equipment that generates heat (for instance radiators, etc.) Make sure there is enough space around the machine for proper ventilation. Packing materials(cardboard, cellophane, material staples etc.) could cut or cause injury if not handled carefully or if used incorrectly; keep them out of the reach of children or unskilled persons.

Insert the capsule, pressing it gently into place.

ADDITIONAL WARNINGS If the plug of the machine does not fit into the socket, change the plug by a qualified person who should also make sure that the section of the wires of the plug are suitable for the power absorbed by the machine. The use of adaptors, multiple sockets and/or extension cords is not advised. If they have to be used it is necessary to use only simple or multiple adaptors and extension cords compliant with the safety regulations in force and to make sure the capacity limit is not exceeded. There are basic rules to be observed when using electrical equipment. In particular: -do not touch or use the equipment with wet or damp hands or in bare feet; -do not pull on the power lead or the equip ment itself for unplugging it; Do not allow the equipment be used by children or unskilled persons without supervision. If the machine is broken or not working properly, shut it off and do not tamper with it. If repairs are needed, only go to an authorised dealer. Non-compliance with the foregoing could affect the safety of the machine.

Place a cup or mug under the coffee dispensing spout.

Close the lever firmly.

Press the desired coffee button and keep it pressed down.

On reaching the desired amount of coffee in a cup, release the button. Now the button is programmed. To reprogram the button or program another button, repeat the above steps.

If you decide not to use the machine any more, you must put it out of commission by cutting the power cord, after unplugging the plug from the socket. It is also advisable to make safe any parts of the machine that could be a danger, especially for children who might play with the unused machine. Installation must be done according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Improper installation can cause harm to persons, animals or things, for which the manufacturer cannot be held responsible.

Raise the lever to eject the used capsule into the drawer.

Close the lever.

NOTE: The quantities of coffee dispensing can be reprogrammed according to personal taste and the size of the cups/ mugs used. Please refer to chapter 7 for reprogramming instructions.

6. PREPARING OTHER BEVERAGES Capsules may be available for preparing beverages such as tea, chamomile tea, filter coffee, etc. For their use, proceed as directed in the previous chapter; on reaching step 5, press “Filter coffee”. In order to prepare beverages using barley capsules, cocoa drinks, etc, proceed as directed in the previous chapter; on reaching step 5, press“Espresso or long Coffee ”depending on the desired quantities. NOTE: Traces of the product just dispensed may remain inside the machine. When switching from one product to another, in order to fully enjoy the flavor of beverage we suggest rinsing the machine by pressing the coffee button in order to dispense a coffee without inserting a capsule.

To avoid dangerous overheating, it is advisable to unwind the whole power cord and only to use the machine as advised in the “Instructions for Use” section. If the power cord of the machine is damage it must only be replaced by the authorised dealer. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any harm to persons, animals or things arising from improper and unreasonable use of the machine and for repairs done by unqualified persons.

The selected coffee button will blink. The appliance will stop dispensing on reaching the programmed quantity and emits a beep.

2. TURNING ON THE APPLIANCE 1

Fill the water tank with fresh, still water. Turn the appliance on.

The buttons will blinks simultaneously to indicate that the machine is warming up. When the buttons remain steadily lit, the appliance is ready for operation.

In order to use espresso cups, you must lift and turn the grill on top of the drip tray.

In this way you can obtain the best results when using small espresso cups.

When the indicator light blinks and the appliance emits 3 beeps, it is advisable to carry out a descaling cycle.

When the indicator light blinks alternately (RED and ORANGE) and the appliance emits 3 beeps, it is necessary to carry out a descaling cycle.
