CAE Studio 5D Planner CAE’s CAE’ s successor to Mine2-4D
Detailed Mine Planning or Open Pit and Underground Operations CAE Mining has taken the lead in developing CAE Studio 5D Planner, CAE’s CAE’s successor to Mine2-4D, the highly popular solution or mine design and scheduling. Whilst maintaining its popular process-oriented approach, CAE Mining has made improvements in usability, usability, processing and data management. Some o the biggest improvements are a result o upgrading CAE Studio 5D Planner’s platorm platorm to CAE Studio. CAE Studio 5D Planner incorporates many o CAE Studio’s eatures including stunning 3D visualization and a completely revamped, comprehensive data management system.

Conceptualise CAE Studio 5D Planner provides an advanced mine design system within a ull 3D environment. environment. Its object-oriented object-oriented 3D design interace interace allows digitizing in multiple viewpoints in real time. Interrogation o block models during the design stage allows economic criteria to be used in the design o production excavations.
Brand new Control Panel with “Smart” Workow Streamlined Project Setup Integrated 3D Visualizer with Dynamic Connectivity to Gantt Chart Production Scheduler (EPS) Redeveloped and enhanced Open Pit module Brand new Project Manager based on CAE MineTrust MineTrust technology Integration with Hard Dollar project costing sotware (cost as the 5th dimension)
Control CAE Studio 5D Planner is integrated with a ull Gantt Chart Production Scheduler (EPS), placing all data rom design, block model interrogation, sequence and schedule in a single database. This results in a single source o the truth, eliminating the need or manual creation o schedules and reducing errors.

CAE Studio 5D Planner maximizes the use o automated processes to eliminate many repetitive tasks normally associated with Mine Planning. This dramatically speeds up the planning process allowing or thorough scenario investigation leading to the optimal mine plan.
CAE Studio 5D Planner includes the new Project Manager, which uses CAE MineTrust MineTrust database technology to manage spatia l geological, design and survey data or a multi-user, multi-role environment. environment. In addition, multiple options to present and distribute mining inormation are available, rom spreadsheet reports and Gantt charts through to dynamic 3D animations and even PDF3D documents.

Inside CAE Studio 5D Planner Underground Flexible design types make it easy to customise mine development and production stopes or any mining method. Derived Activities model other mining tasks, such as drilling and backfll, to be incorporated into your schedule. By creating a database o standard design defnitions, design consistency is maintained throughout a project mine site or company. Changes in the database are automatically applied to the design.
Open Pit Strategic planning data contained in imported models can be used by CAE Studio 5D Planner to defne more detailed designs and schedules resulting in medium term and budget plans that honour the optimized long term plan. Designs can be as detailed as required making CAE Studio 5D Planner suitable or easibility studies or more detailed budget planning. 3D Mining blocks are automatically generated by intersecting pushback boundaries, topographical suraces, bench defnitions and blast or pseudo blast outlines.
Activity Sequencing Using CAE Studio 5D Planner’s leading methodology, a design can be automatically sequenced quickly and easily. Changes to the design do not require manual re-sequencing. Manual link creation is also possible and the sequence can be “tested” at the click o a button.
Geological Model Depletion All development a nd extraction ca n be interrogated against a block model. Development can be “depleted” rom the model ensuring it is not double-counted within a stope or mining area when calculating the production tonnes and grade.
Naming Conventions The fle naming convent ion can be built up rom attri butes and then split out to create a summary structure in the Gantt Chart Production Scheduler (EPS). It can mimic the actual mine naming convention allowing a better understanding o the schedule and improve communication to others. Real time animated 3D graphical representations o the mine plan in EPS simpliy planning and reporting.
Functions within EPS include:
Calendars Multiple calendars can be applied to both resources and activities e.g. development and backfll crews working on dierent shit systems. It is possible to schedule shutdown or non-work periods and defne multiple reporting calendars or dierent purposes.
Resources Resources can be either equipment or labour and can be assigned to mining activities. Resource levelling allows the creation o a resource based schedule where advance and production rates are dictated by resource availability and relative work priorities.
Prices/Costs Prices and costs can be profled over time to reect the variations i n planned revenue, cost and cash ow. Available integration with Hard Dollar, industry-leading project cost estimation and control sotware, allows or multiple detailed cost scenarios based on a cost database.

Activities can be Rate-driven or Duration-driven or Cyclic (e.g. drill/charge/blast/muck), where each stage in the cycle can have its own resources Actuals can be entered and tracked and compared to multiple schedule baselines with real time visibility o the impact on the remaining schedule and period quantities Resource availabilities may be profled over time, which will be taken into account during resource levelling A dynamic and customisable summary view (Crosstab) always shows the period quantities o the schedule, making it easy to see the impact o adjustments or delays on the bottom line. Tonnages, grades and other base properties are dynamically calculated and powerul grouping, fltering and pivot table unctions allows or easy reporting with copy-paste exporting to Excel.
