INTRODUCTION Configuration is a sensitive operation, which has direct consequences on the correct operation of the vehicle. Incorrect configuration can have an impact on: •
Safety (deactivation of vehicle protection devices),
•
Overall functioning of the vehicle (complete loss of or damage to vehicle functions)
•
Vehicle diagnostics (returning of fault codes which may cause the diagnostic tool methods to fail, and lead to the unjustified removal of parts).
You are therefore requested to perform the configuration operation following the instructions on this INFO’DIAG in order to ensure customer satisfaction by returning their vehicle in a perfect operational state.
2
PRELIMINARIES The instructions below must be followed to guarantee safety linked to vehicle operation and well-being.
2.1 Safety advice Before starting the engine: •
Check that the electronic parking brake is activated,
•
If the gearbox is automatic, check that the gear lever is in position «P » (Park),
•
If the gearbox is manual, check that the gear lever is in neutral.
2.2 Technical advice The BSI must be correctly configured before initialising the BSI, initialising the keys or starting the engine.

OPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUT This chapter describes the steps to be followed to configure a BSI. •
If the configuration is being carried out following the replacement of a BSI, or following the downloading of the BSI: follow chapters 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3.
•
If the configuration is being carried out independently of a BSI replacement, or the downloading of a BSI (checking the correct configuration of a vehicle for example): follow chapters 3.1 and 3.2 only. Chapter 3.1
Operation to be carried out before removal, downloading or configuration of the BSI: Printing of customer options configuration values È Chapter 3.2 Operations to be carried out to configure the BSI: È A) Configuration by internet È B) Choice of maintenance plan È C) Manual configuration of customer options È D) Checking of certain parameters with manual configuration È Chapter 3.3 Operations to be carried out after the configuration of the BSI: Initialisation of BSI (or initialisation of keys or synchronisation of high frequency remote controls)
Page 4 / 31
3.1 Operations to be carried out before removal, downloading or configuration of BSI Before removing the faulty BSI ECU, or downloading or configuring the ECU, establish communication with this ECU on the vehicle using the LEXIA or PROXIA diagnostic tool. Print the screen « Customer Options » from the diagnostic tool, showing the configuration parameter values (or note these values down manually). To do so, carry out the following operations: LEXIA or PROXIA 1
Connect the diagnostic tool on the vehicle.
2
Select "Diagnosis"
3
Enter the vehicle details, then its RPO number
4
Start the "Global Test"
5
Select the menu « BSI », then validate using key « * ».
6
Select the item « Configuration ».
7
Select the item « Manual configuration ».
8
Select the menu « CUSTOMER OPTIONS ».
9
Print the diagnostic tool screen showing the configuration parameter values, or note down these values by hand
10
Return to the Global Test by successive presses on the « Return » key.
Once this operation has been completed, you may replace or download the BSI, if required to do so.

CHECKING OF THE CONFIGURATION 4.1 Notes on the configuration tables The display of configuration parameters is conditional on their being present in the BSI software. The parameters will be displayed by the diagnostic tool partially or totally depending on the BSI software version. An underlined configuration value corresponds to the value to be programmed on all the vehicles.
Configuration notes: (1): Means that you have to programme the parameter according to the absence or presence of the option or to the vehicle definition. If the option or the vehicle definition is easily identifiable, the instruction is not accompanied by any particular text. (2): Means that you have to programme the value indicated in the column « Value to be configured ». This value is valid for all vehicles. It is prohibited to programme any other value. (3): Means that this parameter is programmed automatically when you use the procedure « CHOICE OF MAINTENANCE Plan (PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION) »
