Passionate about delivering global enterprise s olutions to drive dynamic and accurate decision making. Proven success managing projects on time and on budget, working with all levels of management and geogr aphically dispersed technical teams. Core Strengths: Business Analysis & Business Intelligence Transforming business requirements int o actionable reports and dashboards Data mart conception, design & specification Leading Project Teams Cross-Functional Communication Troubleshooting & Problem Solving TECHNICAL SKILLS BI Tools: Business Objects WEBI and DESKI, Xcelsius dashboards, Cognos, Essbase Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, Access PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE STANLEY BLACK & DECKER, East Greenwich, RI 2006 - present Senior Business Analyst, Tools Division Managed all aspects of the IT projects creating data marts to capture sales, ord ers, and service metrics from multiple ERP systems. Created complex Business O bjects reports and Xcelsius dashboards for trend and operational analysis, in re sponse to critical business needs. Oversaw the development of Bostitch Fastening's first data mart. Prior to this project, analysts used a home-grown Access database to report on sales, orders and inventory to their managers. These reports would often present inconsisten t results over time, due to design limitations. The static data spreadsheets did not allow for the flexible data manipulations or trend analysis that dynamic data enables. To create the data marts, I managed a team of business analysts , ETL developers, data modelers and Business Objects developers from the Stanley Corporate BI team. I interviewed executives and operational users to gather th e business requirements and understand the division's ERP system and processes. I prepared project documentation: charter, scope, funding and personnel requir ements, created and managed the project plans and issues list, and held frequen t stakeholder meetings. The Fastening data mart project was seen as a clear success by the leadership te am, and was eagerly adopted by users in Finance, Sales, Marketing and Logistics. I built Business Objects reports showcasing promotional effectiveness, custo mer service metrics, the sales impact of new product development, new opportunit ies for sales, what products to retire, emerging markets, and even business cha nnels to exit. I was the key business-IT liason on major business initiatives, and engineered s olutions to drive change. To focus on our raw material costs, I developed a dat abase for Plant receipts to track the effect of material inflation/deflation. T he price indexing metric I developed enabled Finance to track the inflationary d ollar impact at each manufacturing plant over time. I also created an Xcelsius
dashboard to visually display the impact on profit margin due to regional fluctu ations in the price of steel. When Fastening merged with the Stanley Hand Tools division to create the new CDI Y division, I again led the project team from Corporate in redesigning the Hand Tools data mart to make it more robust and accommodate Fastening history for sal es reporting. I also created a number of reports in the domain of Sales Oper ations & Planning, data which was pulled from Demand Solutions and the ERP syste m. I assumed daily oversight of a database used by Operations for managing cus tomer fill rates and distribution center inventories. Stanley adopted the Kaizan method for cross functional problem solving. I atten ded a week-long training, and led a Kaizan event for reducing pricing credits. A number of root causes were found, and we focused on three areas to improve: a utomation of the Special Pricing Authorization process, reducing customer servic e data entry errors, and electronic distribution of price lists to customers.

Created the initial design of the Cognos security system, and implemented cube d elivery methods - client access, Web access, and FTP of child cubes, and schedul ed delivery of cube builds. Responsible for numerous Cognos version upgrades, a nd project manager for the Cognos move from Windows to UNIX. Designed APC's Operating Expense cube based on extensive interviews with Finance , Accounts Payable, and cost center managers. Required considerable research in how expenses are managed at APC, from purchase order, to Accounts Payable, th e Journal Entries and finally the General Ledger. The cube was modeled after the Oracle General Ledger, and showed Actual vs. Budget by fiscal quarter. Business Analyst on Siebel Customer Relationship Management software implementat ion team, and developed Siebel Analytics dashboards. Extensively interviewed S ales executives and managers in understanding the challenges they face in managi ng sales people, prioritizing sales opportunities, setting sales quotas, and coa ching the sales force.
