Message from the General Manager of  the Textile Machinery Division

Maximum speed: 1,250 rpmA new beating mechanism, new frame structure, ultra-fast CPU processing speed and other design features enable operation at a maximum speed of 1,250 rpm (R/S 190, single-color, crank-shedding specifications).

I have been newly appointed the general manager of the Textile Machinery Division. After joining the company in 1981, I started out with textile machinery, then gained experience in a wide variety of areas: logistics systems, Material Handling, and Corporate Planning Planning at the Head Office. However,

large number of customers both in Japan and abroad over the course of many years, our JAT710 air-jet loom that offers advanced functioning and has earned high acclaim enjoyed annual sales of over 10,000 units last year. This marked the first time in 69 years that we have achieved sales reaching 10,000 units, ever since the type-G shuttle loom that occasioned the launch of our company sold some some 12,000 units in 1937. 1937. I am deeply grateful for the era-transcending support our customers have shown us.  Far from resting on these achievements, however, we at Toyota Industries intend to continue pressing yet further ahead as we turn an even closer ear to what our customers have to say.  In closing,I'd like to offer to you our best wishes for your wealth and happiness. The New LWT710

High Quality

Communications Features

Offering a short stroke and extended weft insertion time has allowed us to dramatically shorten the distance from the beating point to the heald frame. Beat-up performance is improved and shedding volume is reduced enabling the weaving of highquality textiles while placing minimum strain on the yarn.

The function panel enables tcommunication in-house as well as with customers and the Toyota head office through the application of TMS or iTTCS.

Versatility Use of the beating link and let-off / take-up controller from the dependable and proven JAT710, along with use of a new weft-insertion mechanism, make possible weaving that is gentle on the yarn, from light to heavy fabrics. The full complement of standard equipment, together with a diverse range of options that include our own innovative w-FIS and a ten-frame negative cam, make it easy to accomplish weaving fabrics of varying fineness, high-density fabrics, and more.

Total Stop-Mark Prevention System

w-FIS Wide range of wefts such as fine or coarse yarns and high-twisted yarns can be inserted without changing pump and nozzle. High versatility is achieved. Individual setting of nozzle pressure allows weft insertion of different yarn types and counts by single pump (2-nozzle).

The powerful CPU controls many devices, including let-off and take-up mechanisms,  effectively preventing stop marks. Delta/star start-up  selection Delta ON timer Operation start/stop  angle setting

Newly Developed Nozzle The newly developed nozzle with higher rectifier effect provides less jet envelope size and offers stable weft insertion.

Timing of electromagnetic pin and ABS function are controlled according to the condition of weft insertion.

Jet timing as well as jet pressure can be monitored on function panel. This f eature offers easy adjustment of weft insertion.

New Beating Motion New Beating Motion / 50% reduction of machine vibration is achieved through lighter weight materials, hardening of beating-related components and applying balance weights across the full width. Furthermore, the short stroke offers higher fabric quality, co-usability of parts and longer parts life. The same reed can be used for both single and multi colors due to the common reed stroke.

The most difficult aspect of the development of the LWT710 water jet loom was smooth integration of the high basic performance of the JAT710 air-jet loom that boasts the biggest global share into the unique water-jet technology honed over the course of 40 years.   Also, I'm proud that through development with a consistent refusal to compromise on creating a customer-pleasing machine, we have created a machine with vastly enhanced operability that can produce high-quality textiles at high speed and with low vibration.

Vardhman Textiles Limited Setup in 1965, Vardhman Group is a major integrated textile producer headquartered at Ludhiana, northern India. Since then, the Group has expanded manifold and is today, one of the largest textile conglomerates in India with a turnover of US$ 500 million. The Group has 20 manufacturing manufacturing units across India and employs close to 20,000 people. Its portfolio includes manufacturing and marketing of Yarns, Fabrics, Sewing Threads, Fibre and Alloy Steel. The Group s flagship company - Vardhman Textiles Limited along with VMT Spinning Company Limited (in collaboration with Marubeni Corporation and Toho Rayon Co. Ltd. of Japan) together have one of the largest spinning capacities in India with over 5,50,000 spindles. In many of the yarn market segments, Vardhman holds the position of market leader - besides being a large and reliable supplier in the country. Vardhman is also one of the largest exporters of yarn from India and the largest exporter of yarns to Japan. Vardhman Threads is the second largest sewing thread brand in the

India with a daily production of about 28 metric tonnes. Its state-of-the-art weaving and fabric processing facilities produce 42 million metres of finished fabric per annum to meet the customer demand for top quality apparel fabric globally. The acrylic staple fibre plant setup in collaboration with Marubeni and Japan Exlan of Japan has an annual capacity of 18500 metric tonnes per annum. The Chairman of Vardhman Group, Mr. S P Oswal, responded to our questions as follows -

◎How is the machine performing and how do you feel about the textile machines and the  Toyota service system?  We have had a fairly long experience of using Toyota textile machinery in form of its speed frames from Toyota Japan and ring frame machines which are manufactured manufactured in India by Kirloskar Toyoda Textile Machinery Machinery Ltd. We are generally satisfied with the performance performance and the after sales support provided by Toyota and its subsidiaries. We have recently installed few air jet looms and therefore, have limited experience about their performance but as a quality and performance driven organisation, we expect enhanced service support in order to adopt the Toyota technology for looms.

Corporate Office at Ludhiana

◎What is your future strategy?  We have already embarked upon a major expansion plan in spinning, weaving and processed fabric capacities in order to be a preferred and distinguished integrated supplier of textile materials. We plan to have about 800,00 spindles by 2008 and produce close to 90 million metres of finished apparel fabric per annum by the next couple of years. Vardhman is dedicated to meet customer demand for top quality products through innovation, world class quality, state-of-the-art technology and excellence in service.
