ISO 4064-3:2014(E)
Foreword ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International
organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization. The procedures used to develop this document and those intended for its further maintenance are
described in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1. In particular the different approval criteria needed for the different types of ISO documents should be noted. This document was drafted in accordance with the editorial rules of the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2, www.iso.org/directives www.iso.org/directives.. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. ISO shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. Details of any patent rights identiied during the development of the document will be in the Introduction and/or on the ISO list of patent declarations received, www.iso.org/patents www.iso.org/patents.. Any trade name used in this document is information given for the convenience of users and does not constitute an endorsement.
The committees commit tees responsible for this document are Tmethods echnical includi Commng Committe ittee e ISO/TC ISO/TC 30, and Measurement of luid low in closed conduits, conduits , Subcommittee SC 7, Volu Volume meTechnical including water meters and meters OIML Technical Subcommittee TC 8/ 8/SC SC 5 Water meters.
This fourth edition of ISO 4064-3 cancels and replaces the third edition (ISO 4064-3:2005), which has been technically revised. Provisions of the third edition are addressed in ISO 4064-2:2014|OIML R 492:2013.
ISO 4064 consists of the following parts, under the general title Water meters for cold potable water and hot water : — Part 1: Metrological and technical requirements — Part 2: Test methods — Part 3: Test report format 4064 -1 — Part 4: Non-metrological requirements not covered in ISO 4064— Part 5: Installation Inst allation requirements requirements
This edition of ISO 4064-3 is identical to the corresponding edition of OIML R 49-3, which has been issued concurrently. OIML R 49-3 was approved for inal publication by the International Committee of Legal Metrology at its 48th 48 th meeting in Ho Chi Minh City Cit y, Vietnam in October 2013. It will be submitted to the International Conference on Legal Metrology in 2016 for formal sanction.

Introduction Implementation of this test report format is informative with regard to the implementation of
ISO 40644064 -1|OIML R 49-1 49-1 and ISO 4064-2|O 406 4-2|OIML IML R 49-2 in national regulat r egulations; ions; however, however, its implementation i mplementation is required within the framework of the OIML Certiicate System for Measuring Instruments [ISO 4064-2:2014|OIML R 49-2:2013, 11.1]. Clause 4 shows the required format of a type evaluation report for a complete or combined water meter.
A type evaluation report for a separable calculator (including indicating device) or a measurement transducer (including low or volume sensor) requires a similar format. However, some modiications to the tables may be required because a large number of variations in the design of these separable units is possible. Some examples of tables for presenting the test results for separable units are shown in Clause 5 for 5 for
initial veriications. These tables can also be adapted for type evaluation reports. reports.

5.1 General
The speciic format layout for reporting initial veriications and subsequent veriications of water meters is left largely to the metrological authorities and the individual organizations carrying out veriication tests. However, the report (records) shall contain the minimum information detailed in ISO 4064-1:2014|OIML R 49-1:2013, 7.3 and ISO 4064-2:2014|OIML R 49-2:2013, 11.2.2. In addition to this, any special requirements and/or restrictions for initial veriication detailed in the type approval certiicate for the EUT shall be applied. A record of equipment and instrumentation used with calibration details (see Annex B) B) shall be kept.
The following basic information should also be included in the veriication report (record) followed by the results of the tests (three examples of how the report may be formatted are given below): 5.2
