Colour LCD Multi-information Display Auto Rain-Sensing Wipers and Auto Lighting Control Located on the windshield just behind the rearview mirror, this sensor automatically activates the wipers at the first sign of rain. It can also be set to turn on the headlamps when things turn dark.

The high-contrast meter cluster is attractively laid out to maximise style and visibility. The silver-rimmed meters are illuminated in white for a feel of luxury, and the full-colour LCD multi-information display conveniently shows remaining fuel, trip and total distance, average fuel consumption, outside temperature, and vehicle status.

Wide-opening Rear Gate The rear gate opens wide enough to give you complete access to the carrying space, making it easy to maneuver even large cargo in and out.

Pop open the rear gate of Lancer Sportback, and the difference from ordinary sport sedans immediately becomes clear. The basic cargo space is large enough to handle an adventure vacation or a downtown shopping spree, and the second-row seats fold down for when you need to carry even bigger cargo. Easy One-touch Folding The rear seats can be folded down simple by pulling the convenient levers located in the cargo space. This makes it easy to open up more space when loading heavy cargo into the back.

The rear seats fold down to approximately 10 degrees from completely flat, making it easy to slide cargo in and out of the rear space. This also gives you up to 415mm of height in the cargo area, allowing you to carry even large loads. When the trunk floor is lowered to the second level, the height becomes 505mm.

Active Stability Control (ASC) Active Stability Control allows you to stay in control even when the road turns slippery. ASC monitors vehicle attitude to detect sideslip or traction loss, then applies braking force and engine output precisely to the wheels that need it in order to maintain optimal traction. In addition, wheel spin is reduced when taking off to provide optimal braking, acceleration and evasive maneuvering.

Room to Move 6-step CVT with Sports Mode Sports Mode for the CVT lets drivers enjoy the direct control of a manual shift while still being convenient and unobtrusive. Gearing changes can be controlled from the floor-mounted gearshift or from the magnesium paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

Incorporating front MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link system, Lancer Sportback makes sure work of unpredictable conditions. Responding exactly as needed, the independent suspension keeps all four wheels firmly on the ground for performance that’s as reliable as it is comfortable.

When a sudden surprise is dropped in your path, Lancer Sportback’s ABS (Antilock Braking System) gives you the ability to maneuver safely around obstacles as you slow down. The EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) assists by applying additional force to the rear brakes as needed, enabling quicker stops even when carrying passengers.
