CHAPTER#1

Introduction:  A store where books are brought and sold is a book shop or book store. This is an organization where all sorts of books are  sold. It contains books related to every class.  Books may also refer to works of literature or  main division of such a work. The book shops are able to offer a wide range of the books at  the best price possible. The bookstore offers an array of books on mostly every topic. It  also extends into food, religion and  children’s books. A book shop provide the community with items necessary to meet its educational need as will as items to enhance campus life .It provide a wide variety of  merchandise and service to the student and  their family. These book shop that have computerized database are more reliable .it  will not be easy to keep records of the books in those book shop which doesn’t have computerize database system .we can easily   find a book by database system by entering  book_Id, name and author. CHAPTER#2

Current manual system:  It is very difficult in finding information in current manual system. Since the database is very large entity it is very difficult to maintain it manually and the other consuming task. A manual database may include a system of  binders, files or folders and filing cabinets so it is not save. In a manual database system information must be found by hand rather  than electronically while a digital database will typically allow the user to search the entire database for specific information in seconds. Someone looking for the information in a manual database may have to spend hours searching a particular piece of data, searching individually through files and cabinets for the information

5

Draw backs:   In

book shop management system most of  the records are maintained on paper. It  becomes very inconvenient to modify the data manually  In book shop management system here is a possibility that same data in different  registers may have different values which means the entries of same data don’t much. This inconsistent state doesn’t supply the concrete information related to particular   search record.   In today’s world no one wants to perform calculation about bill manually if computer  is available. Everyone want his/her work  done by computer automatically and  displaying the result for further because there will be so many errors on calculating  bills manually.  There will be main problem of data redundancy .Book shop department has many sections due to which same data is held in different places which creates the duplication

CHAPTER#3

Proposed system   A book shop uses a personal computer to maintain the inventory of books that are being sold at the shop, the list  include details such as author, title, price, publisher, stock    position etc. whenever a customer wants a book the  shopkeeper input the title and the author of the book and  the system replies whether it is in the list or not. If it is an appropriate massage is displayed if book is in the list, than the system displayed the book details and ask for no of copies ,if the required copies are available the total cost  of book is displayed otherwise the massage “required  copies not in stick” is displayed. Computerize books management system is very useful. User is no longer  require to check his register in search of records as now it  can be searched over the software by choosing some option. The user need not to type in most of the information. He /she are just required to enter the desired  option. On the whole it liberates the user from keeping  lengthy records. In a nutshell it abates the work load of  an organization.

It has greater data integrity and independence from application  program  This management system has improved data access to use through use of host and query language. It  also reduces data entry, storage and retrieval cost  and has improved data security than manual  database.   It has facility of new application program. Less manpower is required in computerized books management system.  All the information about books is together and can be portable if in a laptop. The information is easy to access at any time.   Books management system is user friendly and  completely menu driven so that the user shall have
