Kihon Happo Kata – basic unlimited (infinite) movements 

I.

Koshi Kihon Sanpo – three basic receiving/striking methods of koshi 

1. a.

Ichimonji no Kata – number one movement (jodan uke nagashi, omote shuto)

b.

Hicho no Kata – flying bird movement (gedan uke nagashi, sokugyaku, ura shuto)

c.

Jumonji no kata – number ten movement (tai sabaki into  jumonji, uke nagashi, boshiken, kyo)

Torite Kihon Kata Goho – five basic grab movements

Kihon Tehodoki Kata – basic hand escapes

Katate Uchi Mawashi – one-handed inside turning escape (mawashi  – to roll or spin)

b.

Ryote uchi Mawashi – both hands grabbed inside turn escape ; grabbing both hands

c.

Katate Soto Mawashi – one-handed outside turn escape 

d.

Ryote Soto Mawashi – both hands grabbed outside turn escape ; grabbing both hands

e.

Ryote Kata Ude Dori – both hands grabbing one arm catch escape 

f.

Gyaku Katate Dori Hon Gyaku – reverse one-handed grab hon  gyaku 

g.

Gyaku Katate Dori Ude Ori – reverse one-handed grab and break 

h.

Shuko Uchi – (shuko – back of hand , uchi – to strike ) both wrists are grabbed; strike thumb joints together laterally or vertically

Ken Kudaki – striking with the fist

Omote & Ura – uke nagashi with a strike with fist to inside and outside of arm

b.

Jodan & Gedan – uke nagashi high and low with a strike to the inside or outside of arm

Keri Kudaki – striking with the foot (leg)

Gokyu Mokuroku – 5 th  Kyu Syllabus 

Kihon Jyutaijutsu Kata – basic grappling movements 

I. a.

Oni Kudaki – omote/ura – demon crusher - from a punch

b.

Muso Dori – omote/ura – catch the warrior twins - from a sleeve grab

c.

Take Ori – Omote/Ura – bamboo break - from an attempted grab

d.

O Gyaku – great reverse - from a lapel grab

e.

Oya goroshi & Ko Goroshi – killing the parent/killing the children – from a lapel grab

f.

Ude Garami  – omote/ura – one arm twist – from yoko shiho or uma nori, onikudaki on ground

g.

Ude Juji Ori – cross arm break from ground (ude ori), arm is straight, pulled through the legs

h.

Ude Ori Wakigatame – arm break hold down – start in seiza. Attacker grabs lapel from seiza, spin to the outside of arm, placing your shoulder into his shoulder from outside as you straighten arm to break it (like gyaku nage)

(not in syllabus – ebi zori – ne waza ground crawling exercise; post, t hen push with leg, repeat)

Taihen Happo Sabaki Ukemi/Kusushi Kata – moving in all

Happo Jyu Kata – unlimited 10 movements (5 each side)

Ten Gaeshi – turning heaven over – from a bear hug, do a forward roll or throw him over at your hips

d.

Goku Raku – attack under the arms – bend over at the waist, stop the throw, then perform any technique (grab his leg with hands and pull out, etc).
