Comparative Study of Biomes using infographics 

1.  Pick a pair of contrasting biomes - you are in 4 groups so each group has to have a different pair o  tropical rainforest v temperate forest o  hot desert v tundra o  deep oceans v tropical coral reefs temperate bogs v tropical mangrove forest o  2.  the following information has to be included in your infographic. Please remember you have to compare the biomes, it is not merely merel y a description of each type • • •

The distinct characteristics of the biome, including the limiting factors Maps -Distribution Climatograph (is this an area with high/low temperature, insolation insolati on and precipitation? what is the precipitation: evaporation ratio?) comparison with other biomes)    Net Productivity (put this into context of a comparison   Biodiversity levels - is this a biodiversity hotspot, i.e. does it have a high biodiversity

     

 but threatened. Giveit some examples of endangered species (plant and animal). Give an example food chain (at least 4 trophic levels) Summarise the human activity and impact on this biome - what are the current environmental concerns and conservation efforts in this area.   How is this biome predicted to be affected (shift) (s hift) by climate change   Provide an evaluation of the threats to this biome.
