Scene Geat. Beowulf lies dying in Wiglaf’s lap, after he has been defeated by the dragon. As the camera pans up, Wiglaf sings to Beowulf. WIGLAF (Singing) Rest your head, soon you’ll be home in bed, until then I’ll protect you, like no other, you’re an okay cousin. BEOWULF (Coughing) WIGLAF Shhhh….shhh….. BEOWULF I went out to go get me a cold pop, and I thought somebody was barbequing! But it turns out Grendel’s mother took a man! I didn’t grab no shoes or nothing,’ Jesus! I ran outside! WIGLAF Shhh… BEOWULF Ain’t nobody got time for that! (Coughing) Remember that one time, at band camp? WIGLAF Wait, hold on, my leg, it’s falling asleep. BEOWULF You good? WIGLAF Yeah BEOWULF When I raced that boy in the water, all those monsters chasing after us-I should’ve won, should’ve won. WIGLAF Why you talking nonsense, B? BEOWULF How much do you love me?
WIGLAF Watcha want? BEOWULF Will you go get the treasure for me? WIGLAF Ugh, really? It’s kind of far… BEOWULF Yes, really! I’m dying, Wiggy! (Wiglaf leaves) Psh, peasant! Two minutes later, we see Beowulf writhing on the ground, convulsing with pain. I lead my people well, I was a great King, so awesome…. Flashback of Beowulf and army looking up to the dragon. Beowulf becomes filled with fear, causing him to run away-his army follows suit. WIGLAF You did, you did. BEOWULF T-treaure…(Reaches for the treasure) WIGLAF (Starts to give it to him, then pulls away at the last second) Psych! BEOWULF When I’m gone, don’t forget to name that well after me. and that waterfall, and that blade of grass! Just don’t forget to remember me. WIGLAF I won’t. BEOWULF And now, I die! (He dies) Wiglaf, sniffling, takes the treasure from Beowulf’s cold, dead hands. He then proceeds to walk into the sunset, lifting the treasure into the air. THE END
