MATERIALS light worsted weight yarn in grey, blue, pink, white | fingering weight yarn

Round 7-8: sc around. (18) Stuff as you go. Round 9: (sc 1, dec 1) X 6. (12)

in pink | lace yarn in yellow | 3 mm,

Round 10-12: sc around. (12)

2.5 mm and 1.75 mm crochet hooks |

Stuff.

9 mm safety eyes | white felt | 2 tiny buttons | Fiber fill | yarn needle | black embroidery thread

Round 1: 4 sc in a magic ring. (4)

note: use 2.5 mm hook unless otherwise

Round 2: inc in all 4 st. (8)

Round 3-5: sc around. (8)

Bunny Boy LEGS (make 2 in grey) Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring. (6) Round 2: inc in all 6 st. (12) Round 3: (sc 1, inc 1) X 6. (18)

Round 6: dec 2, sc 4. (6) Round 7-13: sc around. (6) FO, leaving a long tail to sew. Stuff paws lightly. Sew to body.

SHORTS (make in blue with 3 mm hook)

Round 4-5: sc around. (18)

Round 1: ch 18. Join to the beginning ch with a sl st.

Round 6: dec 4, sc 10. (14)

Round 2-4: sc around. (18)

Round 7: dec 5, sc 4. (9)

FO. Work another piece exactly like the first one but do not FO.

Stuff foot lightly. Round 8-12: sc around. (9) Round 13: (sc 2, inc 1) X 3. (12) Round 14: sc around. (12) FO. Stuff the leg. Work the second leg following steps 1-14 but do not FO.

BODY (make in grey) Round 1: Hold both legs together, making sure they face in the same direction. Insert hook into the 2 stitches that meet in the center, YO and make a sc. Continue making sc stitches in the remaining 23 st around both legs. (24)

ARMS (make 2 in grey)

Round 5: Join both pieces together as you joined the bunny legs and sc around. (36) Round 6: (sc 4, dec 1) X 6. (30) Round 7: sc around. (30) Round 8: sl st into the next st, ch 2, hdc 2, hdc dec 1, (hdc 3, hdc dec 1) X 5. (24) FO. Weave in ends. Slip the shorts up the legs.

Round 2-5: sc around. (24)

Straps (make 2 in blue): Join yarn at the border of the shorts (see images on right). ch 23 and starting from second chain from hook, sc 22. Join this first strap to the border (where you joined the yarn earlier) with a sl st. Bring strap to the front of the body and sew in place. Repeat on the other side.

Round 6: (sc 2, dec 1) X 6. (18)

EYE PLACEMENT: Cut out two oval pieces of white felt and make a hole slightly off center on both pieces. Insert safety eye through the hole. Now insert safety eyes between Round 5 and 6, 7 st apart and stuff firmly.

Round 6: sc 6, (sc 4, inc 1) X 3. (24)

Round 20: dec 6 times. (6).

Round 7: sc 6, (sc 5, inc 1) X 3. (27)

FO, leaving a long tail. Sew gap close. With black embroidery thread, sew outlines around the eye felt patches.

NOSE

Using pink fingering weight yarn and yarn needle, embroider ‘V’ just below the eyes. Fill in the space between ‘V’ with long stitches. Once V is filled, make a short vertical line below it, turning it now into ‘Y’. Finally, make a short horizontal line below Y.

Round 11-15: sc around. (36) Round 16: (sc 4, dec 1) X 6. (30) Round 17: (sc 3, dec 1) X 6. (24)

EARS

(make 2 in grey)

Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring. (6) Round 2: inc in all 6 st. (12) Round 3: (sc 1, inc 1) X 6. (18) Round 4-8: sc around. (18) Round 9: (sc 1, dec 1) X 6. (12) Round 10-14: sc around. 912) FO, leaving a long tail. Flatten ears and pinch the base. Secure this shape with a few tacks if necessary. Sew ears on head, making sure the ears are only a stitch apart.

TAIL (make in grey) Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring. (6) Round 2: inc in all 6 st. (12) Round 3-4: sc around. (12) FO, leaving a long tail to sew. Flip inside out and stuff lightly. Sew in place. Now, sew head on top of the neck opening and your Bunny Boy is ready! © 2014 TALES OF TWISTED FIBERS

Edging: With yellow lace yarn and 1.75 mm hook, loosely sc around the waist band and the leg holes. FO. Weave in ends. Slip bikini bottom up Bunny Girl’s legs.

BIKINI TOP (pink fingering weight yarn and 1.75 mm hook) Round 1: ch 30. Starting from second ch from hook, sc 34. Join to the beginning ch with a sl st, ch 1. (30) Round 2-3: sc 30, join, ch 1. (30) Round 4: sc 30, join. (30) Edging: With yellow lace yarn and 1.75 mm hook, loosely sc around the top of the previous round. FO. Weave in ends. Join yarn on the foundation chain and sc around loosely. FO and weave in ends. Pinch the front center of the piece and tightly wind yellow yarn around it a few times to create bust and sew to hold it in place. Hold the bunny’s arms over her neck and slip bikini top over the chest.

TAIL Using white yarn, follow instructions for Bunny Boy.

Now, sew head on top of the neck opening and your Bunny Bunnies are ready to make a splash!
