Problem Definition To design, build, test, promote, and race a prototype of a single seat offroad vehicle hypothetically intended for production and eventual sale to the weekend off-road enthusiast. Improved visibility from cockpit – Widely spaced A-pillars to increase driver Field of Vision.
Excellent ergonomics to increase driver comfort without compromising on space for essential components.
Dashboard mounted gear lever with gear indicator to enable quick gear shifts as well as easing up space in the cockpit. Impact Energy Diffuser (IED) – Pivoted bumper with spring support in front of vehicle to absorb energy from collisions as well as protecting essential components like wishbones, steering setup etc.
Testing will be carried out for vehicle dynamics, that is bump steer, cornering, acceleration, manoeuverability etc.
Virtual test for collision.
Vehicle will be rigorously tested for a distance of 80 kilometers on dirt tracks and challenging terrain (at Dirt Maniac, 20th mile Kanakpura Rd, Bangalore).
The title sponsor of Team Stratos is Activa ANSYS® Pvt Ltd.
The registration fee will be borne by the college management .
The total cost of building the vehicle is approximately INR 2.25 lac as described in the Cost Report.
The other expenses includes registration, travelling, transportation etc will be approximately INR 1,25, 000.
