SIMULATORS AXON INTELLECTUS hiDRILL The AXON Intellectus hiDrill features safer and more cost-effective drilling through simulator training utilizing a model of the actual well. Specifically, the simulator combines 3D visualization and advanced modeling of the downhole drilling process (Intellectus) with a generic topside rig model (hiDrill). After loading the drilling plan into the simulator, scenarios are defined for training. Team members, such as drillers, supervisors and sub-contractors, then solve specific challenges that may be faced during actual drilling.

Intellectus This training uses dynamic downhole models. In particular, Intellectus models the time development of drilling, takes into account dynamic effects like inertia, acceleration and retardation and effects of temperature and pressure changes downhole on the downhole process. For example, training on kick detection and well behavior during circulation is based on real conditions (rig/choke and well and mud). Moreover, the training provides realistic feedback on rate of penetration and weight on bit. The Intellectus hiDrill also provides realistic training on the following:

• • • • • • • • • •

Drilling and tripping operations with dynamic surge and swab Fingerprinting in Deep Water and HPHT wells Well control (kick and losses) in real mud, well and rig/choke Deep Water and High Pressure High Temperature Stripping operations Connections Multi-fluid operations Through Tubing Rotary Drilling Managed Pressure Drilling Extended Reach Drilling
