WELCOME TO THE AVRC The

Audio-Visual Resource Centre (AVRC) is the resource centre for the school for studies in art and culture(SSAC) in the faculty of arts and social sciences(FASS) at Carleton university in Ottawa,Ontario,Canada.The AVRC serves the combined faculties of Art History,music and film at CU.

Audio Visual Research Centre



1. It provides valuable resource material for

higher education and mass communication.  2. The programmes produced are televised under UGC/CEC countrywide class room programmes.  3. It invites faculty from within and out side the university as subject experts to participate in the activities.  4. The centre has made about 180 programmes covering various subjects and areas.

SERVICES 1.Circulation of researve material for courses at the second year level and above. 2.Online searching of the schools teaching and reference collections,including a digital image collection. 3.Assistance in locating analoge or digital material or in creating presentations or rescreening a film.

ART HISTORY Digital

image slide boards;separate user name and password. Approx.250,000 slides of fine arts and architectural subjects.Unique and significant material in this collections will become an important research archive A modest number of dictionaries,encyclopedias and guides.

PRODUCTION



Production of educational television programmes for telecast on national network under UGC’s countrywide classroom.



Research



All aspects of educational technology in relation to learning in diverse age groups for both urban and rural population in various disciplines.

RESEARCH PROJECTS(AVRS) Impact

of UGC programmes on under graduates. CEC-IGNOU-ISRO,National talk back experiment on new communication and information technologies-a course taught by teleconference. Need assessment survey of the student of up regarding countrywide class room programmes.
