Attribute achievement form This form must be used to record how you’ve achieved the ICE member attributes  if you are applying for a: assessment,,    member assessment   career appraisal  appraisal or for   recognition recognitio n of an existing professional professiona l qualification qualificat ion via mutual recognition recognition..  o  qualifications   o  recognition of EU professional qualifications o  registration  recognition of Engineering Council registration 



 

If applying for member assessment or career appraisal for progression from IEng to CEng you only need to demonstrate the additional CEng attributes. If you are applying for MICE using your Engineering Council registration, you should demonstrate competence competence in the attributes to the same level of as your existing registration (eg. IEng or CEng). If you are applying for AMICE by career appraisal you should replace the word `engineering` with `scientific` when reading the attributes. If you are applying for MICE at EngTech level, please use the the  Technician Standards achievementt form achievemen form  instead. Demonstrating competence attributes  competence in the member attributes  To become a member of ICE you must have had responsible and relevant experience at a level such that you can demonstrate the relevant attributes.  Attributes 1 and 2 relate relate to your fields fields of work as indicated indicated in your application application form. You must demonstrate a sound understanding of core engineering principles in those fields. Your level of attainment of attributes 3 to 9 will be assessed with regard to their relative importance within your fields of work.  work.  In order to fulfil your obligation to society as a professional civil engineer and to meet the requirements in relation to health, safety and welfare legislation, you must have a sound knowledge and understanding understanding of the construction process(1), as well as the activities connected to it. You must have an appreciation of risks arising as a consequence of your actions, and be able to identify and manage those risks. If you’re role is involved in the construction process, site experience will ordinarily be required. Writing your statements When completing this form it is important that you demonstrate how you have achieved the full range of aspects in each attribute for the level of membership you are applying for. You need to show clearly show your experience and responsibility for the required grade. For example: attribute attribut e 5, Commercial Ability, you should demonstrat demonstrate e how you have met both the contractual and financial aspects of this t his attribute.

We don’t publish examples of attribute statements, because each candidate’s experience will be different. You’re responsible responsible for de developing veloping thoughts and explaining how your experience meets the required standard within each of the relevant attributes.
