Esteemed Readers: CRICKET AND CINEMA There is a talk in the street that now-a-days parents prefer their children to get trained in singing and playing cricket. Entertainment represents present. Thinking and Planning is future. We need the generation next for the formulating the future of the nation. In almost all the 365 days there is a cricket game somewhere in the world involving international teams like Australia, England, India, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, etc. People think of easy and large chunk of money achieved in Entertainment field, but one should not forget the need for basic educational qualifications to be attained by young generations. They are the torch-bearers of the future. They only could lead the nation forward. It is seen that some singing competitions are going on for more than 5 years with “season I to V”, etc. Everyday women, children and men are glued to Television channels for watching these programmes, which are nothing but just repeating some cinema songs sung by someone, by young and budding singers. They are attracted by Multi-national Companies and large sponsors with huge and attractive prizes. ICC World cup cricket is another entertainment programme which is attracting Crores of Money. Citizens, especially younger children, do get attracted to it. For making easy money, players and gamblers to fix matches. There should be a rule for any illegal earning. Parents should encourage children to focus more on education rather than mere entertainment. In India field of cinema and cricket has changed from 1990 onwards, thanks to the Venus maha dasha in the India’s independent chart. We are into multi-fold business avenues in both these fields. Are we in the right direction? SCAM IN DEMOCRACY We are in the midst of scams. It is like a baby falling into a deep bore-well. We would be in need of a clean and constructive society and nation. From a genuine house-hold a sincere society can be formed, while a sincere society can be transformed into dedicated nation. We need to generate Doctors, Scientists, Engineers, Professionals, Diplomats, Administrators and many more. Issues like Cinema, Cricket, etc. are not required to be given primary importance.

We are now hearing of scams of 1 lakh 30 thousand crores or 2 Lakhs Crores. We grow steadily, but scams grow faster and fatter. Crores of Rupees have been parked outside India by our citizens. Are politicians not aware of these? Are they not black money? One astrological combination seen for misappropriation of funds is the connection of Jupiter, Mars and Rahu connected with 02nd house. LEADERS We need young and dynamic leaders to rule our country. Coalition Government has got its teething problems. Many are opportunistic. The system of achieving a majority number for a ruler, in a house, for Prime Minister or Chief Minister should be dispensed with, and give them power to act against erring persons more strongly. Important posts like President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Governor, Chief Minister, etc. should be elected directly by the people of the country. They should be given minimum period of “X” term to rule. This way, inefficient people creeping into such posts can be done away with. If there is retirement for Government and Private Employees between 55 to 60 years, then the age limit for retirement for Politicians should also be the same. RECTIFICATION / CORRECTION OF BIRTH TIME L. YOGESH RAO K.P.Astrologer, 202,”La-Vista”, Plot 132, Shivaji Park, Rd.#2, MUMBAI-400 028 Tele: +91 22 24467314; CELL: 9820600875 It is the experience of almost all of us that no Birth is recorded correctly with regard to the exact hour, minute and second…for a variety of reasons…mainly because in different parts of India different parameters are followed…for example the correct TOB could be at the Time: 1) When the head is seen…or 2) When the delivered infant touches the ground or delivery table...or 3) When the umbilical chord is severed…or 4) At the first breath of the infant usually at the time of the first cry…(the obstetrician is known to hold the newborn by his feet and give a sharp slap to elicit the cry…) as that Is when the infant begins to ‘live on his own’… As per K.P. this is the correct TOB when the infant has to breath in order to cry! This is very difficult, as both the Nurse and the Doctor are busy cleaning the infant…naturally the best alternative is to use the Rectify the Time of Birth later,using the K.P. System.... Rectification of Birth Time, or the determination of the Exact Time of Birth, has assumed great importance in the present days, because a consultant expects the Astrologer to give his predictions very accurately, and if possible give the exact date and time of an event, either yet to take place or already taken place. Several methods came to be devised / prescribed by the different systems of Astrology, the old Traditional Astrological Method, the Tajik System, the K.P System, the Cuspal Interlink System of (CIL), Mr. K.Bhaskaran of Madurai and Khullar’s KCIL. Let us now examine the various methods as per Krishnamurthi Padhdhati. I will restrict our discussion to the easily practicable methods, now made possible by the advent of Computers and improved and very accurate, specially designed Software, which removes the cumbersome calculations of the old systems / methods, like using Ghatis Vighatis and the like … Guruji KSK’s system was inspired on reading and studying in depth Brihat Jataka, by the great Varahamihira…Chapter 26,stanza 17,where a method to arrive at the correct Lagna from the Time of the Query is described…KSK drew inspiration from this…but this remained ignored and no worthwhile research was made for the past so many years!

After a great deal of experimentation, KSK, discovered that the Time Of Birth and the Time when the urge to work out and erect the Birth Chart, and the moment of the query, have a direct relationship, and there can be no two opinions on this score…in other words, Thus was born the THEORY OF RULING PLANETS …and the axiom that the Ruling Planets at Time of Judgement, or beginning to work, will always govern the Lagna crowning KSK with unprecedented Fame and Glory ! ! The importance of correctness of the Date, Time and Place of BIRTH… The importance and usefulness of the Correct Date and Time of Birth, has increased a great deal, these days…for: 1) Admission to school, 2) Appearing at competitive Examinations, 3) Entry into the service in Govt., or Public Sector, and Private sector too… 4) For Insurance purposes… 5) For marriage purposes…horoscope matching etc… 6) For forecasting future events accurately… 7) For helping choose the most suitable Education Qualification/ Profession… Rectification of Birth Time: A. When the given Time of Birth is suspected to be + or – 20 to 25 minutes from the exact Time of Birth, then the one may resort to a very simple method…Simply adjust the TOB such that the sub lord and sub-sub-lord of the Ascendant appear as the Moon’s star-lord and sub-lord, that TOB thus computed…will be the Exact Time of Birth. B. In all other cases The Ruling Planets at the time of judgement / query, will surely rule the Ascendant …fully...(with due substitution of the nodes)… Note: If one wants to find out the correct position of the Moon, with that query in one’s mind, note the RPs at the TOJ…and write down the position of the Moon, accordingly… If the correct Birth time is expected/suspected to be more than plus or minus 25-30 minutes, away from the given Time Of Birth(TOB)., then the method is as follows: a) First take the Ruling Planets at the time, when a strong urge arises... b) Then arrange write down the Sign lord, Star-lord, Sub lord and sub-sub-lord of the MOON position at that Time... c) Now insert these as: Sign-Lord, Star- lord,Sub- lord and subsub-lord as the degree in which the Ascendant is posited...respectively…

d) Now work out the time for this position of the Ascendant, and work out the exact Time... this will be the EXACT TOB...as per K.P. Principles.. . C. If the expected / suspected TOB is within 25 to 30 minutes, then the method is as follows adjust the TOB such that the Starlord and the Sub-lord appear as the sub-lord and sub-sub lord of the Ascendant. Such a TOB arrived at, will be the EXACT Time Of Birth.! D. Yet another method is that, whenever one meets with a minor accident or gets a minor cut with a knife or blade...note the EXACT time at that moment, and work out the Lagna at that time, immediately. Mysteriously, the sub lords of the Houses IV, VIII & XII will be appearing as Lagna-lord, Lagna Star lord and Lagna Sub lord. Comments are invited, but should be made only after having tested this out thoroughly…naturally it is expected only K.P. New Ayanamsa will be employed. (Most modern SWs have this incorporated.) Similarly, a large majority of the consulting public is interested in knowing about their prospects in their Profession, Worldly success, or Labha, Financial success/status, and Nidhi or Luck in general…or the Houses I,X,II,XI,VI and IX…respectively… Also, as per the need, the Houses V, VII etc., queries about which are commonly met with, can be analysed with more accuracy and less possible “inadvertent over-estimation”. If a K.P. Astrologer and his client have the time, then a very useful tabulated predictive aid can be made and stored in your computer, as per your personal needs and SW or System used, for future reference and quick assessment in case of any future queries by the client.

YOGAS DESCRIBED IN JYOTISH SANGRAHA-PART 2 YENBEEYES

2.1 मृ यु जायोग – Mrityupraja Yoga In this part let us see some more Yogas described in Jytosih Sangraha. One such Yoga is Mrityupraja Yoga. I am keeping the Sanskrit words used by the author as it is to make it more meaningful. मृ यु means death and जा in this context refers to the subject/person concerned.

पंचम थो यदा सूय तमोमंद वजैयुतः

वभानु भूिमतनयौ भवेतां तनुजेऽथ वा॥१०॥

मृ युयोगं वजानीया बालकानां न संशयः। अंते सुतीथमरणं व णुभ

परायणः॥११॥

इह ज मिन संतानं भवे ा न तु जीवित। एको वा जीवित यदा अंते दःखमव नुयात ् ॥१२॥ ु When the 5th house is occupied by (1) Sun, Rahu, Saturn or Ketu or (2) Rahu and Mars - Mrityu Praja Yoga is formed. The effect of this yoga is that the native will get an offspring but that will not survive. The native who has such a Yoga will pass away in a good and holy place where there is sacred water. The word used is सुितथ . Theertha means sacred water and any place having a sacred river, lake or ocean is called Theertha sthal or theertha sthan or theertha kshetra. He is destined to be a Vishnu Baktha or worshipper of Mahavishnu. Even if he gets a child it will not survive. Even if one child survives, in the end he will be sorrowful on account of the child. Throat-ache, short of breath feeling, a pain that appears to break the body limbs etc. are its other symptoms. This is a highly enervating disease. जदे वा ज means Brahmin and दे वा means God. So the literal translation goes as Brahmin God. Brahmin here has nothing to do the with the caste system. In the Vedic times Agni, Vayu, Surya and Soma or Moon were the main devatas. In the Upanishads we find the word Brahman who are like fire, Vayu and also Sun and Moon. They saw these Devatas as Brahmin. So one explanation of this word is that the native is fond of worshipping these Brahmin Devatas. The Puranic deities and their different forms of Gods that we worship today are also treated as Brahman as they possess the qualities of Brahman. We can go on expanding this principle to include the consorts of the three supreme divinities Brahma, Vishnu and Siva - Saraswathi, Lakshmi and Parvati. To quote the words of David Frawley “To see the Devatas (Gods and Godesses) as forms of Brahman is to really see the devatas. Each devata is a doorway on the infinite which is Brahman…” Has anybody come across such a horoscope? I am yet to see one such chart. 4. यमाकृितयोगः – Yama Kruti Yoga मूत तमः कुज े े सहजे च र वभवेत ् ।बु धशु तदा यमाकृितय गो

ेण संयु ो अ मे र वजाकुजौ॥२१॥

ह या कृता पुरा। त मा महाद र

वं अनप यो भवे दा॥२२॥

राजरोगी तथा राहोः शिनभौमजपा छुभम ् । The next Yoga is termed as Yama Kruti Yoga. The word itself describes the Yoga that it is the action of the God or Controller of death –Yama. For Aries and Scorpio Ascendant, Rahu is placed in Lagna, Sun in the 3rd house and Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn in the 8th house Yamakruti Yoga is applicable. Persons born with this Yoga must have done Brahma Hatya in his previous birth on account of which he will be a very poor man in this birth and in spite of having progeny will be a destitute. He will suffer from Raja Roga (Tuberculosis) and he will be a sad person. If he worships Rahu, Saturn and Mars he will be benefitted. If we draw the charts it will look like this. Asc. Ra

Brahma Hatya means killing a Brahmin. Here Brahmin is not by birth (caste) but by qualities of the living entity. The qualities as described in Vedas. So if a person has killed a person having the qualities of a Brahmin, then he comes under Brahma Hatya Dosha and he is punished badly in the next birth. If he has done the same Brahma Hatya in the previous life, he will be punished in the present life. One classic Example is the Chart of Sri Rama. Sri Rama had an Exalted Jupiter in the Lagna but was aspected by Saturn and Mars which constituted the curse of a Brahmin. So for the curse of a Brahmin or 49

Any conjunction between Saturn/Mars with Jupiter or Aspect will indicate the curse of a Brahmin in a chart. But here the author has not taken into consideration Jupiter at all. Hence this is a deviation and how far we can consider this to indicate Brahma Hatya Dosha is a big question and needs more extensive study. As to the native being a very poor man, we can say that for Aries Lagna the Dhanasthana as well as Labha Sthana Lords Venus and Saturn both are placed in a Dusthana. Saturn also indicate his Karma as the 10th lord. So the native will be poor and his karma may be begging. For Scorpio Lagna we see that the 11th Lord Mercury goes to the 8th house. We cannot say anything about the 2nd Lord as Jupiter’s position is not given. Position of Sun in the 3rd house is generally considered as one of the strong points in a horoscope. With my little knowledge, I am unable to comprehend in what way this will indicate the results pointed out by the author. Probably if we have some sample charts, the position may become more clear. Overall, I am not convinced with the results given in the verse for the given combinations. Learned Scholars may kindly enlighten the same to the readers as well as me. 5. म हषाकृित योग – Mahisha Kruti Yoga

शिनराहू चतुथ थौ दशमे केतुभूसुतौ। ष दःु शु र वणा युतः या म हषाकृितः॥२७।

आ ातुन संतानं भवे ोगः पुनः पुनः। तथा मातुम हाक ं जायते ना संशयः॥२८॥ Unlike the previous Yoga, this Yoga though named as Mahisha Kruti Yoga meaning the action of a buffalo, there is no mention of any buffalo or any curse on account of some action in previous birth. The combinations for this Yoga are – Saturn and Rahu must be in the 4th house and Ketu and Mars in the 10th house and in the 6th house Moon, Venus and Sun. Results of this Yoga are – Native’s elder brother will have no issues. Native will be afflicted by diseases often. Native’s mother will also be put into big troubles. The author confirms that there will be no doubt on the results mentioned. This is quite acceptable as the 10th house is the 12th house to the 11th house of elder brothers and the presence of two malefics Ketu and Rahu indicate some problem to the elder brother. The house of diseases-6th house gets afflicted due to the presence of Sun which is not good for health and the frequent troubles to the body is indicated by the aspect of Saturn on 6th house. 4th house indicating mother gets afflicted by presence of two dire malefics. 6. मातृकघातक योगा – Matru Ghaatak Yoga ल न थते यदा जीवे धने सौ रयदा भवेत ् ।सहजे च यदा राहमाता त य न जीवित॥३२॥ ु अ म थो यदा जीवः कम थाने मह सुतः। िसंहे शौ रभवे

य त य माता न जीवित॥३३॥

महाणवे भृगुमते योगोऽयं मातृघातकः। दै याचायकृतः नो भृगु णा वै कािशतः॥३४॥ Jupiter in Lagna, Saturn in Dhanasthan (2nd house) and Rahu in the 3rd house – Mother of a person having such a combination will not be living. Also if in a person’s chart, Jupiter is in the 8th, Mars is in the 10th and Saturn is in Leo, his mother will not be living. In the book named as ‘Maharnava’ written by Rishi Bhrighu this Yoga named Matru Ghaatak is mentioned. घातुकः means matricide. घातक means killing or destroying. In the latter part of this Yoga, it is also mentioned that the native in his previous birth has murdered his father and mother and hence in this birth he will be without mother. 7. द र योग – Daridra Yoga ू र तुथक

थो धने ू रोऽथवा गतः। द र योगं जानीया ाजपु ोऽ प यो नरः॥ ४०॥ 50

Any one who has such a position of planets even if he is the son of a King will be a pauper. 8. वघात योग – Vighaata Yoga

ल ने चैकादशे शौर रपु थाने िनशापितः। भूिमपु ो स म थो मातृ प ो न जीवित॥ ४५॥

ल ने ित ित चेत ् ू राः पापाः स मगा य द। माता प ोऽितदःु खातः दारा त य न जीवित॥४६॥ ल ने

क थते ू रा तदा पु ो न जीवित। अ मन ् योगे नरो जातो राजमा योऽितदबलः॥ ४७॥ ु

वघातः means Destruction, removing, killing, impediment, abandoning, leaving. This Yoga gives the combinations which lead to the passing away of various relations of the native. Since the word ‘Jeevite’ has been used, the said relations will not survive. 1. When Saturn is placed in Lagna or 11th house with Moon in the 6th house and Mars in the 7th house father and mother of the native will not survive. 2. When malefics are placed in the Lagna and also in the 7th house then the native’s parents become very unhappy and the spouse of the native will not survive. 3. If Lagna, 6th house, 8th house and 12th house are all occupied by malefics then such a native’s progeny will not survive. Natives born with such Vighaata Yoga will be respected by the King but they will have a weak constitution. 9.

षुघाती योग – Trishu Ghaati Yoga

र वराहू कुजः शौ रल ने वा पं चमे

थतः। आ मानं हं ित पतरं मातरं च न संशयः॥५२॥

योगोऽयं षुघातारो ज मकाले भवे नृ णाम ् । पतृदोषः कृतः पूव पु ह नो नरो भवेत ् ॥५३॥ If in a persons horoscope Sun, Rahu, Mars and Saturn are placed either in Lagna or in the 5th house then without doubt that native not only destroys or brings grief to himself but also to his father and mother. Such a native has done some wrong things to parents in his previous birth on account of which he will be issueless in this birth. This Yoga is called as Trishu Ghaati Yoga. Because three persons get affected – Self,father and mother – probably this yoga is called as Trishu Ghaati Yoga as ‘trishu’ means three. 10. अ य कार योग

सूय े े गतः शौ रभ म े े यदा अगुः। राहु े े दवानाथो मंद े े धरासुतः॥५४॥

सुते ल नचतुथ थौ पं चमे सं थतेऽ प वा। शिनराहू धरासूनुः पु नाशं करोित वै॥ ५५॥

अ मन ् योगे नरो जातः षुघाती भवे ुवम ् । राजपु ोऽथवा मं ी पापकमा वतः सदा॥ ५६॥ Other types of Trishu Ghaati Yoga – 1. In the rasi of Sun – Leo – Saturn sits and in the rasi of Mars – Aries and Scorpio – Rahu is placed and in the rasi of Rahu – Virgo (Note the deviation here) – Sun is placed and in the rasi of Satrurn – Capricorn and Aquarius – Mars is placed – This is one type. 2. Saturn, Rahu and Mars are placed in the 5th house, Lagna and 4th house respectively – This is the second type. A person born with such combination looses his progeny. Persons with such combinations definitely have Trishu Ghaati Yoga, be it a King’s or Minister’s son. He will always be doing bad deeds. Conclusion: With this I conclude the 2nd part of this Yoga series. In this Yogas, as I could not get sample charts for verification, I have given only the gist of the Sanskrit verses with certain explanations to some of the Yogas as I have understood. 51

Ehud Netzer excavated a series of sites across the Holy land and said new information from these sites proclaimed Herod to be a legendary builder king who was able to steer round political intrigue to finish huge building projects, that has left an incredible architectural legacy which has endured for over 2000 years, Ehud wasa scholar of the Holy Bibles and in particular, The Old Testament. Ehud worked on excavations at the Canaanite city of Hatzor and all over Palestine and Israel, and in fact the most important sites in all the Holy land, including Herods monumental palace at Massada overlooking the Dead sea, where Jewish rebels defied Romes 10th legion and rather than surrender all committed ritual suicide. This uprising had been after Romes destruction of Herods second Jerusalem temple in AD 70. Ehud became the senior lecturer at the Hebew University in his pivotal year of1981.
