Area of a rectangular reducer A rectangular reducer has four sides, each side being a trapezium. Therefore area of reducer is the addition of the 4 no trapezium. Area of a trapezium is given as 1/2 (sum of the bases)height For 550*350 to 400* 200 1/2 (500+400)ht + 1/2 (350+200)ht +1/2(500 + 400)ht +1/2(350 +200)ht. Since this reducer has been fabricated, height can be taken physically and area can be obtained (height being constant to all sides) Theoretically, height can be obtained by using a slope of between 1 in 4 to 1 in 7 recommended for a reducer fabrication.
