A full-day workshop exploring the “why, who and how” of Palliative Nursing, from philosophy of care, to self-care, to clinical practice and audit. Topics include: Who am I am Why am I here? Philosophy of Caring Resilience and Self-Care Clinical Practice Skills Emergencies in Palliative Care
Pain & Symptom Management
A full-day workshop on the practical challenges of managing pain and non-pain symptoms in the palliative care setting. Topics include: “Difficult Pain” : Definitions and Approaches to Management Interventional Procedures for Pain Dyspnoea Delirium Anorexia-Cachexia
1300-1700 HALF DAY WORKSHOPS Ethical Decision-Making
A case-based interactive discussion workshop, facilitated by experienced clinicians, on negotiating ethical dilemmas faced when caring for patients at the end of life. Participants are welcome to bring their own cases.
Research Forum
An opportunity to interact with experienced palliative care researches.
Learning to Teach Palliative Medicine
A half-day workshop aimed at educators in palliative medicine, on improving awareness and effectiveness in delivering teaching.
