Angel Ornament This ornament is one of my favorites for traditional holiday trees. Something about the simple shapes and the way the light plays off the surface seems just right. If you adjust the size, this project can double as a tree topper!
For the Angel I usually prefer a minimally printed paper, though sometimes the right metallic design can add a shimmer that works with the folds of the project. The ones shown here were made from an 8" (20.5cm) sheet of paper.
ANGEL ORNAMENT
4. Fold the bottom corner up, and then back down again, but shorter than before, to create a pleat for the leg.
2. Fold in half, left to right.
5.a Swivel squash fold the leg to make it narrower. Repeat steps 3–5 on the remaining long flap. Flip over.

3. On the front layer, fold the right side to the center.
6. On the front layer, open the flaps.
Note: It may help to turn the flap with the leg you just created and the remaining long flap to the left before repeating (you will have to mirror step 3).
9. Fold the left and right corners along the existing creases to create wings.

8. Inside reverse fold the bottom corners of the top triangle.

7. Fold the top corner to the bottom of the body and then up, but shorter than before, to create a pleat.
1. Start with the Waterbomb Base (page 26). Fold the bottom corners to the top.Flip over.

10. Fold the top of the wings to the bottom.
11. On the front layer, fold the bottom of the wings up. Unfold.
12. On the front layer, fold the bottom of the wings up between the previous crease and the edge.
13. Fold the top corners of the wings down along the top of body and then back up, but shorter than before, to create a pleat. Flip over.
14. Fold the top corner down and to the right to create hair.
15. On the front layer, lightly fold the left and right corners toward the center to create arms.
16. Pull the top corners up to open the wings.
17. Lightly fold the center of the body and mountain fold the sides of the body to shape it. Note: You will have to push the model from behind to round out and shape the body.
