ABOUT AMCAT AMCAT is a test conducted by Aspiring Minds to assess the student quality and their employability in the industry. AMCAT is used as a screening tool for entry level job selection by many banks, IT companies. A good AMCAT score is mandatory for the candidates to go to the next round of selection. The test score acts as a benchmark for the students to showcase their skills and abilities in a particular field. AMCAT test has compulsory as well as optional modules. The first 4 modules given below in the table are compulsory modules. Attention to detail is compulsory only for non-Engineering graduates. Computer programming is taken as an optional module by students wanting jobs with IT companies. Other optional modules are available and students can choose the same according to their field of specializations. AMCAT SYLLABUS AND SCORE INTERPRETATIONS: VERBAL ABILITY The Verbal section of AMCAT 2016 Exam has 25 questions that needs to be answered in 25 minutes. A good score in this section indicates the following befitting Job Functions/Profiles: This module will be relevant for almost all profiles such as Business Consulting, HR/Admin, iTeS/BPO, Marketing, Engineering, Sales and Customer Management, IT, Hotel Management, Life Sciences, Content Development, etc. The Major topics to focus in this section are as follows.

Vocabulary Synonyms Antonyms Grammar Subject-Verb Agreement Tenses and Articles Prepositions and Conjunctions Speech and Voices Comprehension Inferential and Literal Comprehension Contextual Vocabulary Comprehension ordering

QUANTITATIVE ABILITY The quantitative section of AMCAT 2016 Exam has 25 questions that needs to be answered in 35 minutes. REASONING ABILITY The Reasoning section of the AMCAT 2016 exam has 24 questions that needs to be answered in 35 minutes. A good score in this section indicates the following befitting Job Functions/Profiles: This module will be relevant for almost all profiles such as Content Development, Business Consulting, HR/Admin, iTeS/BPO, Marketing, Engineering, Sales and Customer Management, IT, Hotel Management, Life Sciences, etc. The Major topics to focus in this section are as follows.

PERSONALITY INVENTORY The Personality inventory section of the AMCAT 2016 exam has 80 questions that needs to be answered in 20 minutes. This is a compulsory module in AMCAT which assesses candidates on their people interaction and people management roles. This section is based on the five-factor model of Personality. AMPI measures five broad based traits.     

Extraversion Conscientiousness Neuroticism Openness to Experience Agreeableness

The Personality Inventory does not require any preparation and you don’t need to overthink your responses. There is no right or wrong answer. The inventory highlights behavior in specific situations which identifies your strong points and provides a window to work on your opportunity areas. Keeping in mind the number of questions that need to be answered within a stipulated time period, it is most effective when you go with your first instinct to get a holistic report.

The Attention to details section of the AMCAT 2016 exam has 25 questions that needs to be answered in 20 minutes. A good score in this section indicates the following befitting Job Functions/Profiles: This module will be relevant for almost all profiles such as Content Management, Quality Assurance, Banking Analyst, In house Lawyer, Designer - Fashion, Interior and Industrial, Business Analysts, Health Care, Engineers, etc.
