High Security Dynamic Radio Key Alarm and Immobiliser system with back-up battery and self-adjusting ultrasonic movement detectors and central door lock switching facility. Suitable for 12v DC negative earth power supply.
IMPORTANT 1. The Cobra 7518 alarm system MUST be fitted with a previously installed Category 2 M.I.R.R.C. listed immobiliser to obtain Category 1 status for the vehicle's security systems. If there is no Category 2 Thatcham listed immobiliser fitted along with associated V.S.I.B. installation certificate, Category 1 status cannot be claimed on fitment of the alarm. 2. The Cobra 7518 is a stand-alone alarm system and MUST NOT be connected in any way to an existing immobiliser. 3. The Cobra 7518 MUST NOT take its power supply from the same circuit as the existing immobiliser and not interfere in any way with the immobiliser cut circuitry. 4. Where the existing immobiliser is connected to visual indicators the Cobra 7518 MUST NOT be connected to visible indicators at all. Therefore the two yellow wires are not used and must be insulated.

FUNCTIONS display trigger codes if the alarm has been triggered in your absence.
l Remote switching Arm and Disarm via an AXcess Coded Radio Key. l Self adjusting Ultrasonic Movement sensor which will trigger the alarm if movement is detected within the vehicle.

l While the alarm is armed, 30 second delay, it will sound immediately a door, boot or bonnet is opened or the Ultrasonic sensor is triggered or the ignition is switched ON.
INSTALLATION NOTES Alarm Unit: l Mount the alarm unit with the screws provided (5mm hole) in a suitable position in the engine compartment. Ensure that it is not exposed to water or mounted too close to heat generated by the exhaust and cooling systems.
l Immediately the alarm is triggered the electronic siren will pulsate @ 118 dB (@1m) and all direction indicators will flash for thirty seconds and reset, ready in case of another theft attempt. l Switching for electric central door locking systems.
l The active range of the radio key transmitter is approximately 3 metres but may vary depending on the type of vehicle and prevailing weather conditions.
l An LED indicator light provides a visual indication when the alarm system is armed. It will also 1

CENTRAL DOOR LOCKING COMMANDS Confirm the type of door locking system the vehicle has and connect using the appropriate application. 1. Single Point Locking System For vehicles fitted with a single point locking system (central door locking system can only be operated from the drivers door). Fit the door motor and connect as shown in diagram 4. Connect the Violet/Orange to a positive supply via a fuse holder and 7.5 Amp fuse. The alarm is preset for a 1 second output on the Violet & Orange wire (Lock/ Unlock).

2. Negative Command Door Locking System For vehicles fitted with a negative command central door locking system connect as shown in diagram 5. The alarm is preset for a 1 second output on the Violet & Orange wires (Lock/Unlock). 3. Positive Command Door Locking System For vehicles fitted with a positive command central door locking system connect as shown in diagram 7. Connect the Violet/Orange to a positive supply via a fuse holder and 7.5 Amp fuse. The alarm is preset for a 1 second output on the Violet & Orange wires (Lock/Unlock).

4. Direct Motor Control For vehicles which require the alarm to directly power the existing door motor wire to operate the central door locking system, connect as shown in diagram 6. For this to operate correctly the door motor wires must be negative while the motor is in the rest position.

INSTALLATION NOTES
Note 2: If additional cable is required, use only cable of the same or greater current handling capacity. Note 3: Ensure that all connections are electrically sound and made through a suitable connector and protected from water ingress. Poor connections may cause erratic operation of the alarm system. Note 4: Take care to route cables away from the exhaust, cooling systems and any moving parts. Secure the alarm's harness to original vehicle's harness or to a good fixing point of the vehicle. Note 5: All alarm wiring should be lapped using tape of similar appearance to the original vehicle. Extra tape may be added to the vehicle's original harness to give similar appearance. Note 6: The alarm circuit board includes special circuit breakers which protect the main circuit board and the indicators from attack by shorting. The 15 Amp fuse in the alarm harness's power supply (Red wire) is to protect the harness from shorting due to poor installation. It is recommended that the fuse holder and fuse is installed. Note 7: Cable tie the ultrasonic and glass break cables to the main alarm harness siren each side of the 2-way connectors to ensure they cannot be accidentally disconnected.
STATUS HISTORY - DIAGNOSTIC READ OUT If the alarm has triggered in your absence you will be notified by the indicators flashing 4 times when the alarm is disarmed. The status history will then be displayed by a sequence of flashes from the alarm's LED. This will indicate the following: 1 Flash Door, boot or bonnet opened 2 Flashes Optional sensor trigger 3 Flashes Ultrasonic sensor trigger or glass break trigger 4 Flashes Ignition sense - Ignition turned on while alarm armed 5 Flashes Voltage drop sensor triggered 6 Flashes Tamper mode 7 Flashes Serial line data link 8 Flashes Serial line data link MULTIPLE TRIGGERS The alarm will also display multiple triggers, therefore if the door is opened and the ultrasonic then detects movement inside the vehicle the LED will display 2 flashes followed by 3 flashes.

REMOTE KEY AND TOUCH KEY PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE
Programming Remote Key/Touch Keys: Remote Keys:
Note: i All Remote keys required to operate the alarm system must be programmed at the same time. This includes all existing Remote/Touch keys as well as new keys. Any Remote/Touch keys not reprogrammed at this point will not operate the alarm system. ii
B1 Press buttons 1+4 on the remote control. The LED on the vehicle will flash to indicate that the alarm system has registered the code number. B2 Repeat procedure B1 for All the Remote keys. (This also includes all existing Remote keys).
You will require the unique Pin code number from the customer for this procedure. If the number has been misplaced it can be obtained by faxing the Alarm Technical Help line quoting the model number of the alarm and the alarms serial number which can be found on a white label under the alarm harness cover on back of the alarm.
Exit Programming Remote Key: C1 Turn the ignition off. (This will exit programming mode). C2 Test all Remote keys.
iii A maximum of four Remote keys can be programmed into the alarm system.
ALARM FUNCTION PROGRAMMING
Procedure for Programming/Re-Programming:
Select the appropriate line from the Program Selection Table on page 6:
A Entering the Pin number.
Enter Pin Code: (See Section A1-4).
B Programming the Remote keys. Initialising Programming:
C Exit programming and test.
l With the Ignition still in the ON position, press the send button on the Remote key for approximately 6 seconds.
Entering Pin Number: Each alarm system has a unique Pin Code number which can be found on the card in the alarm box. This Card must be given to the customer on delivery of the vehicle.
(The vehicles LED will flash with a long single pulse signifying that you have initialised the Program Selection Table).
A1 Turn the Ignition ON and OFF 3 times within 7 seconds. The LED will Illuminate for approx. 3 seconds.
Programming:
A2 Immediately the LED extinguishes, switch the Ignition ON.
l After the long single flash the LED will display a short single pulse identifying that you are at Mode A of Program Selection Table 1.
A3 Count the number of flashes until this is equal to the 1st number of your Pin code (i.e. 2 flashes = No. 2, 4 flashes = No.4) then turn the Ignition OFF and back ON.
l Push button 1 on the Remote key to change the selection (pushing the button 4 times will take you to Mode E (5 Flashes) of Program Section Table 1). The LED will confirm this by flashing 5 short pulses.
A4 Repeat procedure B3 for the following 3 digits of your Pin Code remembering to turn the Ignition OFF and back ON after each Code number.
l If you are happy with this selection press button 4 on the Remote key, this will input your selection. The LED will confirm this by flashing your selection in long pulses.
If Pin Number is correct the LED will illuminate. Note: If at any time you fail while entering your Pin Code. Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds and start again. 5

Turn the ignition OFF and back ON. This will enter you into Program Selection Table 2'. The LED will confirm this by dislaying 2 long pulses. A short pulse from the LED will then identify that you are at Mode A of Program Selection Table 2 Programming Program Selection Table 2: Push button 1 on the Remote key to change the selection (pushing the button 4 times will take you to Mode E of Program Selection Table 2). The LED will confirm this by flashing 5 short pulses. If you are happy with this selection press button 4 on the Remote key. The LED will confirm your selection by flashing in long pulses. Turn the ignition OFF and back ON. This will enter you into Program Selection Table 3. The LED will confirm this by displaying 3 long pulses. Programming Program Selection 3 - Buzzer Volume: Pres button 1 on the Remote key to increase the buzzer volume and button 4 to decrease the volume. If you decrease the volume to minimum setting the buzzer will not sound when the alarm system is armed/disarmed. Turn the ignition OFF. This will exit you from the programming feature. 6
