GENERAL FEATURES COMPONENT FEATURES Internal skin

General Features SKM MAH units are manufactured in modular sections. Units can be shipped fully or partially assembled to facilitate handling and lifting in case of limited access. All components of MAH are easily accessible. Different sectional arrangements & fan discharge positions are possible depending on the site constraints and requirements. MAH units are suitable both for duct connection or free discharge applications. A typical MAH Unit consists of a wide choice of a combination but not limited to the following sections, fan, cooling coil, heating coil, humidifier, filter section, heat recovery system, by-pass section, multi-zone, mixing box dampers, return air fan, plenums etc.

Inner panel skin, so called “double skin” [DSU] to retain the insulation, is made of galvanized steel, is easy to clean and has smooth surface. This eliminates any chance of dirt and bacteria accumulation, making SKM double skin units ideally suitable for hygienic applications, such as, pharmaceutical industries, hospitals, operation theatres and food processing industries, etc. Stainless steel inner skin [SIS] or perforated inner skin [PIS] or Aluminium inner skin [AIS] for better sound absorption characteristics are available as an option.

Painting

Casing & Construction

MAH units are supplied unpainted in a galvanized finish. Units are painted only when specified. Painted MAH units are made out of a zinc coated galvanized steel thoroughly de-greased and then phosphated before application of an average 60 micron backed electrostatic polyester dry powder coating in RAL 7032 color scheme. This finish and coating can pass a 1000 hour, 5% salt spray testing at 95°F (35°C) and 95% relative humidity as per ASTM B 117-95. Specify option [BEP] for painted units.

Penta-Post Frame

Insulation

Component Features

MAH series section casings are constructed of framed modules for maximum rigidity and strength. Structure frame is made of hot dip coated galvanized steel profile so called “Penta-Post” which has excellent mechanical characteristics. The cross section of this profile is specially designed for this type of applications. “PentaPost” profiles are connected by means of special corner pieces. This frame construction gives the possibility of completely dismantling the unit sections and re-assembly at site in case of difficult access.

For best thermal and acoustical performance, all panels and PentaPost frames are internally insulated with fiberglass having black glass tissue facing. The fiber glass insulation conforms to HH-1-545B Type 1, SMACNA standard for duct liners and ASTM-C-423 and NFPA90A and 90B standards for fire resistance. Sound absorption coefficients tested in accordance with ASTMC423 on F25 mounting are as follows : Octave Band (Hz)
