Adoption

enabling law to adopt a child legally, those desirous of adopting a chUd can only take the chlld in 'guardianship' under the provisions of The Guar:d1an and Wards Act. 189()1_ This however daes not: provide tn the child the same sta.ru5 as a chiild born biologfc.aUy to the family.

Unllke a child adopted under the Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act 1956 the chHd cannot become the]r own. take their name· or inherit their properly by right. Thjs A·ct e:onfers only a guardian-ward relationship. This legal guardian~ward relationship exists until the child comptete~s 21 years of age . Foreigners who seek to adopt an Indian Child. can do so u.nder this Act to assume legal Guardianship of the child., after giving an

assurance to the court. that they would legally adopt the child as per the llaws ·Of their country, within two years .after the arrival of the child in their country.

It is generaJ ly w.en known in so.me families in India though it may be kept a secret in some cases. Often~ information about bio1ogical par·ents Is a1so, not available in some cases. Adoption can be ~or many reasons: 1. A childless couple who wants to have children of others for their fam1 lies..

this study.

These peep le ar~e forgetting and ignoring ·the basic traditional values ·Of proper settlement in marriag~e and importance of chHd in the family. Such life fuU of mental tensions becomes an obs tade in expansion of family~ Some couples., however. don't have children due to lack of blessings of ~cL Later on when medical aid 1s also not c.ondudve for ~child birth, such ~coup~es plan to adopt ",child.· Sometimes •.affluent peopl~e in our so..5ety adopt a ·,child" even without getting married as Sushmjta Sew and En,genna jolly have done. Usually av~e·rage couple adopts a child for happin~s5 of their family. Couple. desirous of adopting a c.hUd, can adopt the ,c.hHd from their own famUy or from other family known to them or from an orphanage or private institution. As instructed by our jyotish Guru Shri K. N. Rao ji. 1: started my research on adoption since last two· years. for research on this topic I collected many horoscoples of parents. who did not hav·e their own child and adopted the ·child, fro~m outside. A thorough analysis of the horoscopes of parents revealed no.t only the causes of childlessness but also the compinations for adoption in their charts. Besides the horoscope of the adopted child had promis-e of. being adopted by shousing change of parents. Adopted children can be divided into, 3 Ci\tegories:(i) Child. whose mother is changed {ii) Child. whose father Is changed (iii) Child. whose father &. mothe-- ?~re changed During my research on this topic I. no:ti.ced that parametres for going abroad were gen~erally found in. horoscopes of adopted di i ld ren. ln some h or·oscop~s.. however. ail these paramet r~es appiled. but children didn"t go in adoption on further enquir~ it
