XBRL is emerging as the language that will be used to create interactive data that financial managers can use in communication. How do you think the use of interactive data might enhance the value of a company’s financial statements? Answer : XBRL = eXtensible Business Reporting Language. It is a STANDARD format used for financial statements. It is tagged based i.e XBRL format allows financial data to be more searchable and comparable. Therefore, useful because XBRL enables companies to use standard tags to identify specific accounting values. XBRL is a standards-based way to communicate and exchange business information between business systems. There is also no re-keying, and thus, more reliable – no keying errors.
