Description

c Acupuncture originated in China and is a treatment that can be traced back thousands of years. The general theory of traditional acupuncture is based on patterns of energy flow through the body that are essential for health. This energy is referred to as Qi or Chi and sometimes Xue (blood). Disruptions of this flow are believed to be responsible for pain and disease. Acupuncture works to correct imbalances of flow, helping to restore health. This is done by inserting special Acupuncture needles to stimulate specially selected Meridian Points along the pathways and manipulate acupuncture needles to remove any imbalances or obstructions within the physical body and restores the body¶s health back and removes any pain or disease. The Chinese describe acupuncture by the character 'Chen', which literally means 'to prick with a needle', a graphic description of this therapeutic technique. c As acupuncture developed, the Bian stones were discarded and needles of stone and pottery were used. These simple, primitive needles are still used in some of the rural areas of China. Eventually metal needles began to appear and these took the form of the classical 'nine needles'. The 'nine needles' comprised the arrowhead needle for superficial pricking, the round needle for massaging, the blunt needle for knocking or pressing, the three edged needle for puncturing a vein, the sword-like needle for draining abscesses, the sharp round needle for rapid pricking, the filliform needle, the long needle for thick muscles and the large needle for puncturing painful joints. The main needle now used for acupuncture is the filliform as most of the others have been replaced by more sophisticated surgical instruments, for instance, the sword-like needle has been replaced by the scalpel. c Acupuncture throughout the world is best known for its effectiveness in relieving pain, and aiding to speed the recovery of injuries of many kinds, WHO (World Health Organization) recognizes that Acupuncture can treat over 50 various kinds of problems some are Digestion problems like indigestion, constipation and diarrhea, Sense Organ Problems like poor eyesight ,Tinnitus , Hay fever , Sinus problem others like eczema, acne, arthritis, bursitis, back pain.
