Abstract

Advanced Practice Estheticians specialize in the health of your skin and skin treatments. They work with skin care products, skin analysis, facial treatments, make-up application, and  body waxing. There are also additional services of energy facial treatments, light therapy, dermaplaning, skin needling, drainage, and peels. Advanced Practice Estheticians can work anywhere from spas and salons to hospitals, and even on their own. It is predicted that over the next decade, around 10,100 jobs will open. This field is also projected to grow up to 29% from 2020 to 2030. In 2020, the employment rate was 68,700 and it is expected to jump to 88,400 in 2030. The average median pay for an AP Esthetician is 31 dollars an hour, coming to a salary of 64,295 dollars a year as of January 26th, 2022. However, income can vary greatly depending on where one works, services one provides, and their clientele. The top-earning careers in this field consist of a Director Medical Esthetician, a regular Advanced Esthetician, and a working from home Licensed Esthetician. A person must complete training, and once completed one must take the Minnesota State Licensing Exam to become an Advanced Practice Esthetician.
