introduction of the Standard 1.6.0 for A320 Flight Simulators
APPLICABILITY This Service Bulletin applies to A320 training devices manufactured and qualified according to standard 1.5.0 Data Package, Parts and Equipment definition. The following aircrafts engine configuration are supported: - A320-214 (CFM 56-5B4 engines), - A320-232 (IAE V2527-A5 engines).

REASON The purpose of this Service Bulletin is to introduce the necessary modifications in order to upgrade a FFS to the current standard definition. The following updates reflect A/C evolutions. o
ATA 00 – General: Behaviour of models has been improved by the introduction of new effects from other aircraft models, in order to harmonize the A320 simulation model with other AIRBUS family models. As a result, models and data have changed. For example, differences in data files: V6: one file for aerodynamics and ground data, excluding HMO. V50: three separate files: aerodynamic data, hinge moments data and ground handling data.

ATA 21 – Air Conditioning Introduction of ACSC system P/N 1803B0000-02 that replaces former architecture based on ZC and PC computers

ATA 22 – Auto Flight: The Flight Management System (FMS) THALES/SMITHS S4 standard (also known as "REV2+" FMS standard) is developed to cancel Operational Engineering Bulletins (OEBs) No. 171, 172 and 181 and to correct S3 anomalies (also known as "REV2" FMS standard). FMGEC standard C12 (compared to C11): Evolutions common to A318/A319/A320/A321 CFM: - Inhibition of AP engagement when radio-altitude is below 100ft at Take Off - Cancellation of the possibility to engage AP/FD DES mode in G/S capture mode to be in accordance with operational Autopilot specification. - Improvement to avoid possible no LOC capture or no G/S capture occurring with Collins MMR - Introduction of FG HUD capability to all Single aircrafts. Introduction as an option of Required Navigation Performance "named "RNP 0.10", but now SAAAR (Special Aircraft and Aircrew Authorization Required) or future approach applications. Performance achieved with RNP step 2: Approach Missed Approach Departure 0.1 (final app mode) 0.3 0.3 o
ATA 23 – Communications: Introduce CIDS Director P/N Z014H000231B including Smoke Detection Function (SDF) Software. The Smoke Detection Function (SDF) Hardware and Software shall be updated according to CIDS Specification. Update of Smoke Detection Function (SDF) Software (Level B), main function: Software loading of SDF software. Implementation of provision of Aft Cargo / Avionic Smoke Detection. Due to the new CIDS Specification for A318/A319/A320/A321 modifications will be implemented in the OBRM Software P/N Z064H000032A. The smoke warning indication on ECAM, resulting from all new smoke detection function, will be covered by Flight Warning Computer (FWC) STD update.

ATA 28 – Fuel: New FQIC P/N SIC5059 14-20 Reduction in time to refuel at certain load conditions Removal of wing & CTR TK quantity fluctuations Improvement in BITE reporting Inhibited Transfer Failure Warning following FQIC reset

ATA 31 – Indicating / Recording Systems: DLRB disk P/N 360-041060-00. DLRB must be loaded with the data base corresponding to the following configuration: "Basic configuration + Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System + Air Traffic Service Unit + Flight Data Interface Management Unit + Electronic Instrument System 2" ECP L04P standard. This standard has been launched for obsolescence reason. The ECP redesign evolutions, introduced through this new configuration to certify, result from the introduction of a new front face : Lamps are replaced by LEDs to light key feed backs and labels Software evolution is introduced to take into account the new P/N Simple contact push button switches replace double contact push button switches. The new front face includes now the lighted label and keypad in a single piece. FWC standard H2F4 (P/N 350E053020808). The main evolutions are: Modification of the procedures associated to the ENG x FIRE ON GROUND alert, to be in accordance with AIRBUS Training Policy. Modification of the AVIONICS SMOKE alert (deletion of the memorization, simplification of the procedures). Addition of the CAB FAN...OFF procedure in cargo smoke alerts. Modification of the ENG DUAL FAILURE alert to separate two cases : If fuel remaining and If no fuel remaining.

Removal of the ENG MASTER...OFF procedure in the NO GO engine alerts when not necessary. Evolution to avoid SPP (Software Pin Programming) reset in another FWC Flight Phase than 1. Modification to avoid the loss of emission of the label 356 after shot power cut. SDAC H2-E2 P/N 350E5500204. The main evolutions are: SDAC functions evolutions: updating of the analog coding laws, increasing of the hard pin-prog area. New SDAC functions: filtering improvement of the rudder position information, new acquisitions linked to the gaseous oxygen system for passengers. EIS2 SW P/N SXT3D-E2SA-0700 (Standard S7). The Electronic Instrument System 2 (EIS2) S7 software has mainly been developed to cancel red OEB 174 (of automatic reset after 145h of continuous power on). It has also provided some improvements like low RNP capability. o
ATA 33 – Lights: New 403VU Light-Plate FIN 41LF P/N D33110302A00 if RNP is selected.

ATA 34 – Navigation: New ADIRS HG2030AE23 with following modifications: ADR - Update of AOA #2 Anemometric Coefficients on A318 A/C - Correction of the ADR cross channel comparison tests - Correction of the AOA SSM reaction when pressure inputs are not valid IR - Correction of the non activation of the ANR function - Update of the Magnetic Variation MAP with 2005 coefficients optimized for 2010 GPIR - Correction of the GPIR anomaly after quick alignment New ADIRS 465020-0303-0316 with following modifications: Main ADR changes: - Correction of Anemometric Coefficients on SA Aircraft Main IR changes: - Excessive Drift On Long Duration Flights - Z Quantizer Saturation Monitoring Robustness Improvement - Update of the Magnetic Variation MAP With 2005 Coefficients Main BITE and other minor changes: - BITE Improvement (EPR AL 256-2: SPR 2090, 2091, 2092, 2094, 2095, 2096). - Spurious BITE checksum Class 3 Failure Message (EPR AL 248-3: SPR 2055). - Minor code corrections. HUDS L3-A standard is included an option. It comprises HUDC (computer), HPU (projector), HCU (combiner) and PMM. MMR: Installation of MMR Collins p/n 822-1152-122 instead of MMR Sextant.

WXR: New WXRadar Collins 2100 Multiscan PWS p/n 822-1710-202 mixable with T2CAS (instead of Allied WX Radar).The multiscan function will be activated with the installation of the new WXR CP P/N 622-5130-820 capable of this function. T2CAS: Introduction of Traffic and Terrain Collision Avoidance system (T2CAS) standard 2 (p/n 9000000-11111) that replaces both TCAS and EGPWS. EGPWS: in case of no-T2CAS installation, new EGPWS p/n 965-1676-003 to support RNP SAAAR option. o
ATA 36 – Pneumatics: In order to integrate A318 Bleed Air System for PW6000 Engines , a new BMC Standard P/N 785002-9 (also called Standard 9) is introduced with the following improvements : PW specificities Reclassification of maintenance messages for discrete outputs (class 1 to class 2) Adaptation of thresholds for the new HPV standard Electric closure of the PRV after engine shut down Adaptation to safety requirements regarding possible hot air bleed leaking in engine pylon area when pylon leak detection function is not available.

ATA 46 – Information systems: The replacing of PN LA2T0G20503B050 with PN LA2T0G20705C070 is in order to allow high speed data loading capability by Portable Data Loader

ATA 49 – Auxiliary Power Unit: Introduce Honeywell VECB with Software –04: Modifications of ECB logic.
o
ATA 73 – Engine Fuel and Control CFM56-5B4 engine: Introduce new ECU Std: 5.B.M: Flex Take-Off and Derated Take-Off Mode Selection improvement: Replacing the initially used flight/ground indicator with another one which uses Mach number accommodation. Expansion of Derated Take-Off Capabilities down to 40% : Increasing the capability of the derated take-off function by a single additional level 7, of 40%. IAE V2527-A5 engine: Introduce new EEC Std: SCN 19: Dual TRA fault logic modification: Once the "forward idle" accommodation due to a dual TRA failure has been invoked on ground, "forward idle" will be latched until at least one TRA has become valid again for 5 consecutive seconds. TRA disagree fault logic modification: Once the "forward idle" accommodation due to a TRA disagree failure has been invoked on ground, "forward idle" will be latched until the TRA disagree failure condition has disappeared for 5 consecutive seconds. Increased derated / flex take-off capability

DESCRIPTION The accomplishment of this SB consists in the following modifications: Modification of the Data Package by integration of the update, Modification of the stimulated avionics by retrofit or replacement, Modification of the aircraft parts and equipment (refer to paragraph 7) This SB shows the modifications that have to be applied to an existing simulator to make it compliant with the new standard definition. Thus, the equipment references that changed in the Standard Equipment List for technical reasons but remain functionally equivalent are not described herein.

MATERIAL, COST AND AVAILABILITY o
Material:
The accomplishment of this SB requires delivery of a Data Package update, a kit of parts and a set of equipment (refer to paragraph 7 for description). AIRBUS France upon request can also provide other equipment not listed below. For size and data organization reasons, Data Packages will be delivered on DVD and CD media. A DVD-R compatible drive is requested to read data from DVD media. o
Cost:
The delivery of the update of Data Package is free of charge, for the Standard Data Packages ordered within the previous 10 years. The costs for the kit of parts and set of equipment are as follows: For the basic (cf par 7.1) : o Set of equipment: 272.500 USD o Kit of parts: 3.700 Euros Note: the replacement or retrofit of avionics equipment is not included in this Service Bulletin. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
If RNP option is selected, a new 403VU Panel P/N D925.17017.000.60 has to be fit. This new panel has different shape, as a consequence, the 401VU Panel is modified (new P/N D925.16422.000.60). The cover assy central is also modified (New P/N D251.13363.000.00). The light plate 41LF for 403VU Panel is different (New P/N D33110302A00) RNP option is not suitable with new T2CAS. If RNP option is selected, TCAS and EGPWS must be used.
