A PROJECT PROPOSAL TO A GULAYAN SA PAARALAN Leodigaria Laud-Reyno Mananao Elementary School San Manuel District (Isabela)

1. INTRODUCTION: One of the priority projects of the Department of Education is the improvement of the nutritional status of school children. Every school was advised to give supplemental feeding. Budget of which is taken from the 35% of the school canteen proceed. The minimal amount could not suffice the finances of the agenda so that schools were encouraged to put up Gulayan sa Paaralan to augment the funds and to met the objective. From these, Mananao Elementary School is in dire need of fund to finance the Gulayan Project. Thus, the administrator and stakeholders of this school humbly request for a Supplemental Grant to sustain the needs of 152 pupils from Kindergarten to Grade VI specifically the 15 children under the Severely Wasted Nutritional Status. 2. JUSTIFICATION FOR GRANT REQUEST 2.1.

RATIONALE Mananao Elementary School is one of the schools of San Manuel District, Isabela. It is located at the western part of the town. It is at the Northeastern part of Mararigue, San Manuel, Isabela and South of Sitio Fernandez, District III, San Manuel, Isabela. It is at the core of Villa Faustino Dy Subdivision where the municipal government used for ‘Pabahay Program’ for squatters in town. This School is considered to be one of the depressed schools in the town of San Manuel. It has a vast agricultural land but few of the people own it. They only work as helpers to the owners and earning meager income where most of their children’s education needs is being sacrificed just to meet their basic needs.

With the consequences stated above, there is a need to help these families to have earned additional income thru planting of vegetables in school. Harvests shall be used for supplemental feeding to severely wasted children.

Align with this, the school personnel and internal stakeholders humbly request for the inclusion of Mananao Elementary School as grantee to the Municipal Gulayan sa Paaralan Grant to subsidize the nutritional requirement campaign which eventually improve the learning achievement of pupils in school. 3. GENERAL STRATEGIES The school’s general strategies for the project are as follows; 1. Improving the vegetable gardens by grade level. 2. Purchasing good variety vegetable seeds. 3. Putting up of trellises. 4. Planting good varieties of vegetables. 5. Taking care of the plants. 6. Harvest and give supplemental feeding to nutritionally severely wasted children. OBJECTIVES: The following are the objectives for the realization of the project. At the end of the targeted implementation dates the following are achieved; 1. improved vegetable gardens by grade level. 2. purchased good variety of vegetable seeds. 3. put up trellises for perennial vine plants. 4. taking care of the vegetables/plants 4.harvested good quality vegetables and gave supplemental feeding to severely wasted pupils. 4. DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR ACTIVITIES The school head together with the internal and external stakeholders will meet to talk about the different activities to be undertaken during the implementation of the program. 4.1.

Mobilization and Organizing Implementation 4.1.1. Inform the parents and teachers about the Grant. Tell the coverage of expenditure to be undertaken. 4.1.2. Create working committees needed. 4.1.3. Create guidelines for the proper implementation of the project.

4.2.

Implementation of the Project 4.2.1. Each class shall work with the HRPTA for the realization of the above cited objectives.

4.3.

Internal Monitoring & Evaluation The programs/ activities shall be monitored by each of the chairman of the different committees with the supervision of the School Head. All activities shall be documented supported with photos. The class who harvested the highest volume shall be awarded with certificate of recognition.
